Boo!

Did you all know that Halloween is just two months from today? Waa-hooo!! I can't wait! I DO love Halloween. It's a BIG deal at my house. We all dress up and hand out candy, not to mention scare the kids. {he-he!} Honestly, they love it. Each year they come back for more and bring their friends too! My daughter and I made up 400 bags of candy last year and we ran out at 9:00PM. WOW!! I know we had more "trick or treaters" than 400 because there were quite a few that wouldn't even come up the driveway! "Chickens"

Now on to the card... Isn't this a sweet little image from Spiral Whisper? I suppose he's trying to be a devilish little fella but he's too cute. I stamped him onto some Papertrey Ink CS and colored him with my Copics. I cut him out with my deckled edge Nestie and sponged around the edges with some chalk ink. The image and the DP are matted with SU Soft Suede and then I stitched the edges of the DP. I finished with some SU polka dot ribbon and added some Stickles to the jack-o-lantern so it would look like it's lit up. It does in real life! Super simple card but I think it's super cute. What do you think? Leave a comment below and let me know. Have a great day!

Harvest Blessings #3

Happy Saturday!! Here I am using my favorite Fall set again.... Happy Harvest from Whipper Snapper. Believe it or not, I still have one more card in mind to make with this set. Can ya tell I'm gettin' excited about Fall coming? Yippee!

This is my submission to the Pink Elephant Challenge #29. Here's the sketch....

How'd I do? I think it turned out AWESOME! I flipped the card base since my image was a little taller. There are so many great images in this set. I love the little bird house and Anna does such CUTE little birds (and chickens), so I HAD to put him in there too! I stamped my images onto some SU Kraft and colored with my Copics and did some shading with my Lyra pencils. This DP is from Daisy D's and I matted it with some SU Soft Suede. This is the neatest shade of CS I've ever come across. If you've been following my blog, I've been using this a lot lately and what's so cool is that it takes on a brown OR olive hue depending on what paper you pair it with. How cool is that? Kinda like two colors in one! I'm all over that!! I punched the bottom edge of the image with the SU scalloped border punch and matted it with Soft Suede as well. Now here's the BESTEST part evah!! As I'm making this card my daughter walks in the house and hands me a present. I'm thinking, huh???? What's this for? She says, "open it". Ok, so there's nothing slow about me, I tear open that package so fast and inside is the cutest little sunflower candle holder and pumpkin spice candle you've ever seen (not to mention smells wonderful too!). And the card says, Happy 1/2 birthday!! Ha-ha-ha-ha! Now is that SWEET or what? I did that for her this year and she thought it was SO cool and she remembered to do it for me. Ok, now all at once, "aaaaahhhhhhhhh". I just love her so! Anywho, the package was tied with this cute little raffia bow on top so I thought, no need to waste that! And that's what's on this card. Waste not, want not huh? Ok, that does it for me today. Have a great day!

Supplies:
Rubber Stamp - Whipper Snapper "Happy Harvest"; DP - Daisy D's; Copics; Lyra pencils; Punch - SU Scalloped Border; CS - SU Kraft & Soft Suede

Whussup? It's Bellarific Friday-that's what!

TGIF!! The weekend's almost here!! Yay! And just think, only one more week to go and a THREE DAY WEEKEND!! Now, that's what I'm talkin' about! This is my submission to the Bellarific Friday Sketch. Don't you just luv her?? I DO like her dress! Ooooooh, so preeeetttty! I made this card for my cousin's wife who's as cute as a button just like the little lady is. I think she's gonna love it. The inside reads, "Your birthday silly!" I think it fits.

This sketch was a doosie for me, I hafta tell ya! Whew! I tried three different patterned papers and ended up going back to the first one I picked out. Sounds kinda like shopping for clothes doesn't it? Anyway, I stamped my image from Stamping Bella onto some SU Very Vanilla CS and colored her with my Copics. I matted her onto some scrap rose colored CS and stitched around the edges. I used a few dimensionals to pop her off the background and added the little buttons because those green blocks just looked so lonely. I printed the sentiment and used my SU small oval punch with a few more dimensionals behind it and there you have it! Have a terrific (I mean Bellarific) Friday and be sure to leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

Supplies:
Rubber stamp - Stamping Bella; DP - K & Company; CS - SU Very Vanilla; Copics; Buttons; Punch - SU Small Oval

What's hiding under the bed?

Oooooh, isn't he a fright? Actually, I think he's SUPER cute!! This little stamp is from Recollections and I picked it up at Michael's. I bought several of these sets because they are so cute! Ah, who am I kidding, I'm just addicted to any stamp that can be used for Halloween. {sigh}

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and then heat set some SU white embossing powder on top. This DP is from Flair Design and of course I couldn't help but whip out my Martha Stewart drippy goo border punch. LOVE this punch! I used it with some Bazzil Bling in slime green, I mean lime green, so it would look like slime. Ewwweeee! I stamped my little monster onto some Papertrey Ink CS and stamped the eyeballs separately. I colored the images with my Copics and cut them out with my circle Nesties. Leaving the Nestie in place, I sponged around the edges with some chalk ink and that finished him up! Agggghhhhh, it's alive, it's alive!!! Leave a comment below and tell me whatcha think? Have a terrific day!

Supplies:
Stamp - Recollections; Copics; DP - Flair Designs; Punch - Martha Stewart; Colorbox Chalk Ink; CS - SU Basic Black, Papertrey Ink, Bazzil Bling

Harvest Blessings #2

Good morning everyone! This is another little Fall card I made with the "Harvest Blessings" set. I stamped her just like I did on Saturday's card using this image (masking the barrel of apples and stamping her behind).

But I must say, this card took WAY TOO long to put together. Have you ever had one of those? Every now and then, I just get stuck! I guess there's no rhyme or reason why, I just do. I had every intention of using a totally different DP with this card and had colored her to match, but when I put it together I thought YUK! I must have spent an hour matting and punching borders and trying different colors of CS and finally gave up on the other DP altogether. I finally fished through my paper stash and found this one. As soon as I laid her on it, I said, "that's it!" Yay! This DP is from Flair Designs and even though it's simple, I think it's just perfect, without any competing colors. I matted the image with SU Soft Suede and then again on the Papertrey Ink CS that I punched with my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch. I stitched around the edges and sponged a little chalk ink onto them too! I tied on some gingham ribbon and that finishes up my card for today! Be sure to leave a comment below, I'd love to hear what you think of her. Have a great day!

Rubber Stamps - Whipper Snapper; Copics; DP - Flair Desgins; CS - Papertrey Ink, Stamping Up; Punch - Fiskars Apron Lace Border; Ribbon

How many sleeps 'til Christmas?

Hi everyone!! This is Christmas card #8... I'm getting there..slowly but surely!
This little gingerbread stamp set is from Waltzingmouse Stamps. This set is called Half Baked. There are quite a few images in this set, so you can make a gingerbread girl or boy and it even has different clothing for each! Super cute. I definitely will be using it again for this year's Christmas cards. This card is my submssion to Taylored Expressions sketch challenge #79.

I started off with my "go to" favorite CS lately - Soft Suede from SU for the card base. This DP is from Cosmo Cricket and I inked the edges with some Tea Dye distress ink to give it a little aged look. I colored the image with my Lyra pencils and then stitched around the edges. I used my Marvy Snowflake punch on the reverse side of this paper and then added some Diamond Dust to make it look like ice. I cut the sentiment out with my circle punch and matted it with the Soft Suede too. I finished with a little gingham ribbon and there you have it. Pull her out of the oven - she's DONE! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Oh, and the answer is 122!

Supplies:
Stamp - Waltzingmouse Stamps; Lyra Pencils; CS - SU Soft Suede & Very Vanilla; DP - Cosmo Cricket, Punches - Marvy Snowflake, Circles; Ribbon

Halloween Tip #25

Ok, do you not just LOVE this card??? Oh my gosh, I have this HUGE grin on my face each time I look at it. That's SO me and my BIG brother. What a little ANGEL I was {he-he}! Spoiled rotten is more like it. I'm the baby so my older brother and sister ALWAYS had to take me wherever they went and I know they hated it. I can remember them saying, "Mom, do I have to take her?" {ahhhh, the benefits of being the baby!}

This little image is from Eat Cake Graphics. I stamped it onto Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream CS and colored it with my Copics. My daughter thought the little girl needed to look like she had a costume on, so she thought an Angel would be perfect. Ya know, like she didn't do anything wrong!! So I drew on some angel wings behind her. I added some Glamour Dust to them so they'd spah-kul too! I matted the image onto some SU Basic Black and stitched around the edges. The DP is from My Minds Eye (one of my favorite paper companies) and the dotted paper on the bottom is actually the reverse side of the skulls on the top. And of course I saved the BEST for last - check out that border punch would ya?? Is that AWESOME or what? I was so excited when I got this. My daughter found it for me at Michaels. Woo-hoo! It's just perfect on this card too! Loveeeee it! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Have a great day!

Supplies:
Rubber Stamp - Eat Cake Graphics; Copics; CS - Papertrey Ink, Stamping Up; DP- My Minds Eye; Border Punch - Martha Stewart

Harvest Blessings

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend. It's SUPER DUPER HOT here. Whew! When I went shopping today, Lucy (that's my car's name) said it was 102 outside. Good grief! Time to get my butt back home in the AC!! None of that stuff for me. Me and the heat, do NOT get along. So I came back home and back in my craft room I go! Ahhhh nnnnice...

I need to finish up my Fall cards since the first day of Fall is September 22, and that's only a month away. Gotta get going... so I inked up Anna Wight's set "Harvest Blessings" and made this little number. The barrel of apples and the scarecrow are two separate images in the set. I just masked the apples and stamped her behind them. The CS is Rustic Cream from Papertrey Ink. I'm really liking it! It's so much heavier than most I've used and the little flecks of brown look really neat too! The DP is from Bella Blvd and the brown CS is Soft Suede from SU. This is a nice Fall color too! I colored the image with my Copics and then stitched around the edges. I sponged a little ColorBox chalk ink around the edges as well. In order to make this half circle, I used a compass and then used my corner rounder to make the scallops, I used the compass again, a bit smaller this time, to cut the DP and then cut them both in half. There is probably an easier way to achieve this, but hey - it worked!! Woo-hoo!! Ok, that finishes up my little girl scarecow. Be sure to leave me a comment below and let me know what you think. Have a great day!

Supplies:
Rubber Stamp - Whipper Snapper; Copics; CS - Papertrey Ink, Stampin Up; DP - Bella Blvd; ColorBox Chalk Ink

You're Outta This World!

Happy Friday everyone! This is my submission to the Bellarific Friday Challenge. Whadaya think? You likeeeee?? I LOVEEEE!!! I used Kenya Ketto from Stamping Bella and I colored her with my Copics. I cut her out and mounted her with dimensionals onto this Earth image for my "outta this world" theme. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the black CS in the background and then I used my Gelly Roll glitter pen to add the stars inside each embossed circle so it would look like space. You can click on the image for a closer look, if you like. The Earth image is matted with some Bazzil Bling cut with my inverted scalloped Nesties and I used more Bazzil Bling for the card base as well. I picked this ribbon up at Walmart ages ago and I thought it went perfectly with this color scheme. I finished dressing up little Kenya by adding some black glitter to her hair and some glitter to her wand. I used my SU small oval punch for the printed sentiment and that completes my challenge submission. Don't forget to leave a comment below and I hope you all have a weekend that's OUTTA THIS WORLD!!

Supplies:
Rubber Stamp - Stamping Bella; Earth Image - SMJ Desings; CS - Bazzil Bling, SU Basic Black; Embossing Folder - Cuttlebug; Nestabilities; Copics; Glitter - Martha Stewart; Ribbon

Happy Harvest

These are a few of my Autumn cards. I used Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic set. This set is so awesome. I just love it. There are several baskets in the set and all sorts of things to put in them. You can check it out here.

I stamped my pumpkins first onto some Papertrey Ink CS and then masked the smaller pumpkins to stamp the basket. I colored the images with my Copics and then cut them out with my Nesties. Each card is a little different but they pretty much all use the same components.

The DP is from Papertrey Ink as well. I picked it up at CHA along with this stamp set. I'm so glad I did. I don't have much Fall themed paper and this paper pack is perfect. For two of the cards I used the Nestie tags for the stamped sentiment and added some ribbon and buttons. Satin ribbon was used on the card above. I shaded around the image with some Colorbox chalk ink and stitched around the edges of each card. Leave a comment below and let me know which one is your favorite. Have a great day!

How many of you remember Foghorn Leghorn?? He's my, Ah say, he's my absolute FAVORITE cartoon character. Character, that is. I could watch those cartoons over and over. Love him!

Lay one, Ah say, lay one on me, BOY! This stamp is from Art Impressions and the beer mug image is from The Digi Shack. I stamped my rooster onto some Papertrey Ink CS and colored him with my Copics. I sponged around the edges with some Colorbox chalk ink and then matted the image with some SU Soft Suede. I stitched around the edges and used some dimensionals to pop it up from the card base. The card base is SU Chocolate Chip that I scored to resemble chicken wire. You can click on the image and see the detail up close. I printed the beer mug image and colored it with my Copics too! I cut it out and popped it up with dimensionals along with the sentiment. I tied some striped grosgrain ribbon around the bottom and that finishes, Ah say that finishes it up! May Christmas GET ALL OVER YOU!!

{He-he} How many of you have a sweater like this somewhere in your closet??? Now, tell the truth... I LOVE the holidays and I guess I'm one of those people who likes to WEAR them too! I know, I know, but ya gotta love us right? Yeah, you're smiling... I can see it..

For those of you keeping track, this is Christmas card #7. I got this little festive lady over at Art Impressions and stamped her onto some PaperTrey Ink CS and colored her with my Copics. I matted her with the reverse side of this DP from American Crafts and the card base is the New Leaf from PaperTrey Ink. I stitched around the edges and tied on some Jillibean Soup ribbon. I printed the sentiment and used a few dimensionals to pop it up. I added some Stickles to ALL her bells {she's wearing a slew of them, let me tell ya!} and that finishes her up.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la!!

Ain't it PURTEE???

Hi everyone! Take a gander at my PURTEE card I made. I just think it's gorgeous. See, it's another one of those "NICE" cards that I do every now and then. This is my submission to the Pink Elephant Challenge #28. The theme is Summer and flowers just say Summer to me.

This stamp is from My Favorite Things and I picked it up at CHA in Orlando last month. I stamped in onto some PaperTrey Ink cardstock and colored it with my Copics. I cut it out with my Nesties and used some chalk ink for some shading around the edges. The DP is from October Afternoon and is double sided. I used both sides on the card. I used the SU ticket punch on all the corners and then stitched around the edges. This is satin ribbon that I ordered awhile back from Ebay and it's the first time I've ever used it. I think it's SO elegant looking. Ok, that finishes the card, so leave me a comment below and tell me what you think. Have a super duper day, even if it is MONDAY!!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 78

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful relaxing Sunday. I made this little card today for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge this week. Not too bad huh? This stamp is from My Favorite Things. The set is called "Can ya dig it" Such cute images in this set!! I have quite a few of their stamp sets and LOVE each and every one! I stamped the image onto some Papertrey Ink CS and colored her with my Copics. The DP is from Chatterbox and I used my Martha Stewart fence border punch on some white CS and placed it between the two layers of DP. Kind of gives it a "garden-ee" touch don't ya think? I stitched around the edges of both pieces and used a few dimensionals to lift the image off the DP. I finished it off with some simple 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and there you have it! Have a great rest of the day!

The Pink Elephant Challenge #27

Hi everyone!! Whew, I've been cranking out cards all day today. Yeah, I say that like it's a bad thing.. Nope, not a chance, I'm lovin it!! So here's my submission to The Pink Elephant Challenge #27. This is a color challenge using brown, turquoise and neutral.

Well, whadaya think? I think she's T-rific! This little gal is from Art Impressions and I stamped her using Momento Tuxedo Black onto some SU Very Vanilla CS. I colored her with my Copics and cut her out using my Label Nesties. I sponged around the edges with some chalk ink for a little shading. The patterned paper is from We R Memory Keepers and is matted with the new In Color from Stampin Up called Soft Suede. I printed the sentiment and punched it out using my SU large oval punch and matted it with the SU Soft Suede punched with the SU scalloped oval punch. I used a few Robin's Nest dew drops in the lower corner and finished her off with some striped grosgrain ribbon. She's great isn't she? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Have a great day!

It's Bellarific Friday!!

TGIF!! Woo-hoo!! And it's a Bellarific Friday too?? Yay!!
Here is my submission to Shannan's sketch below.

I pulled out my Stella stamps again and found this one with her holding a shopping bag. And then the 'ol noggin' started to think, "hey, that could work as a Trick or Treat bag now couldn't it?" So, I pulled out my Micron pen and it's a Trick or Treat bag now! Hmmph! I stamped Stella onto some SU Kraft CS and colored her with my Copics. I added some Stickles to her wand and crown and cut her out using my classic and scalloped oval Nesties. While leaving the Nestie in place, I sponged a little chalk ink around the edges. I think this gives a nice little edge to the stamped image. The card base is SU Kraft and the DP is from Cosmo Cricket that was matted with SU Basic Black. Of course I couldn't resist the urge to stitch around the edges, so I did that too! The two matted layers are separated with some dimensionals which always makes for a nice 3D look. I then punched a 1/4" hole next to Stella and threaded some ribbon through, and that finishes Stella the Trick or Treater, who's coming to a door near YOU!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha!! {Ding-dong!}
Leave me a comment below and have a great Friday!

If the broom fits!!

Ha! Don't ya just love this card?? Oh my, as soon as I saw this set over at the Doodle Factory I just had to have it. Did I mention I LOOOOVVVVEEE Halloween? Isn't she a hoot!!

And do you see what I got over the weekend??? Yup, the new Martha Stewart spider web border and corner punches. I couldn't believe that Michael's had them. I got the last corner punch so I felt pretty lucky. They do make a nice mat, don't they? Oh, and if you have any of these punches, I found that in order to get them to make a perfect square or rectangle, you have to cut your paper at a minimum of 3 1/4" and go up in 1 3/4" increments from there. Example: 3 1/4" x 5" or like for my card, I used a 5" x 5" square.
For the card base, I started with a piece of purple cardstock and layered some lime green Bazzil Bling CS on top. Then I layered the SU Basic Black piece punched with my new spider web punches. The DP is from K & Company and I picked it up last year at my LSS. This paper is SO cool. It's flocked and it really looks like a night sky doesn't it? I stamped my witch with some Momento Tuxedo Black and colored her with my Copics. I added a little Stickles to the stars and then adhered a few dimensionals to make her pop off the sky! I stamped the sentiment from the set onto the same purple cardstock and added a button with some lime green thread and she's all set! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of her. Have a great day!

Supplies:
Rubber Stamps - DoodleFactory; CS - SU Basic Black, Bazzil Bling; Copics; DP - K & Company; Punch - Martha Stewart Spider Web Border & Corner; Button

Happy Birthday Dinky!

Today is my daughter's 24th birthday!! Oh my, I can't believe how fast time goes by. Seriously, it seems like yesterday when we came home from the hospital with her. She's the light of my life and if I was any more proud I think I'd bust!! I wanted to use this little stamp because it reminds me of the many times I pushed her around the neighborhood in her stroller. Loved those days!!

This cute little stamp is from Alota Rubber Stamps and I picked it up from All that Scraps. Christine carries quite a few of their stamps and her shipping is dirt cheap! I stamped the image onto some SU Very Vanilla CS in Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with my Copics adding a little Glamour Dust to her wings. I cut and embossed the image with my Classic Circle Nestie and leaving the die in place, I sponged around the edges with my ColorBox chalk ink so it would resemble the DP. The image is matted with two Scalloped Circle Nestibilities in both SU Riding Hood Red and Kraft. I placed dimensionals between the two Nestie scalloped circles for dimension. The card base is SU Kraft and the DP is from Cosmo Cricket. I have to tell ya, I love their paper. They just have a retro feel to them and I can't get enough of it. I matted the DP to some SU Riding Hood Red and stitched around the edges. I printed the sentiment onto some SU Very Vanilla and cut and embossed with my Nestie tag die and again left the Nestie in place while sponging some chalk ink onto the tag to match the shading on the image. I tied some taffeta ribbon around the matted DP to hold the Nestie tag in place, then added some brown buttons threaded with some embroidery thread and that finishes the card. Leave a comment below and let's wish Jessica a VERY Happy Birthday!!

Ok Santa, we're ready!!

Heeeeeeerrrrrre's Christmas card #6!! Yippeee!! Isn't this the cutest stamp? I just loved it when I saw it at Hobby Lobby last year. I couldn't wait to use it.

I started with a square card base in SU Very Vanilla. Say, what's with me and all these square cards lately??? Go figure??? I kinda like them though, they give me a little extra room on some of these bigger stamps. I stamped my little guys onto some SU Very Vanilla, colored them with my Copics and matted them with a piece of SU Real Red. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye and is matted with SU Real Red as well. I sitched around the edges of both pieces and then tied on some of this yummy new SU polka dot ribbon. Isn't it cute? Ok, be sure to leave a comment below and I hope you all have a great day!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 77

This is my submission to Taylor's Sketch Challenge 77. I've been dying to use this stamp set by Whipper Snapper and as soon as I saw this sketch, I thought of this paper and the little chicken in the boat.

I started with a square card base in the new SU Soft Suede. I added the patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Mr. Campy collection and used my corner punch on the bottom edge to get a bigger scalloped border. I matted this with a matching plaid piece from the same collection and then stitched around the edges. Next, I stamped my little "fisherchick" onto some SU Very Vanilla and colored with my Copics. I cut him out with my circle Nesties and matted him with a scalloped Nestie cut from the SU Soft Suede. I stamped the fish onto a scrap piece of CS, then colored and cut him out and used some dimensionals behind him. I paper pieced the note so it would stand out more too! The sentiment is from this same stamp set and I punched it out with my SU large oval punch and matted it with dimensionals on the SU Soft Suede punched with the SU Scalloped Oval. Last, I added a couple of buttons and twill tape to finish it off! There you have it! Leave me a comment below and have a GREAT Monday!

Supplies:
Rubber Stamp - Whipper Snapper; CS - SU Very Vanilla, Soft Suede; DP - Cosmo Cricket; Punches - SU Large Oval, SU Scalloped Oval, EK Success Corner Rounder, Nesties; Copics; Buttons; Twill Tape

Happy Birthday Sam!

I made this little card for a friend of mine's little girl. Today is her 1st birthday! She is such a doll too! She has the prettiest eyes you've ever seen. You just wanta pick her up and squeeze her when you see her, she's just that cute.
This stamp set is from Close to My Heart and I've had it forever and have never used it. Hmmmm, does that clue you in on how many I have. Yup, too many!! (Nah, what am I sayin', you can NEVER have TOO many!) {he-he}

So I stamped my little EWE onto some SU Kraft CS and colored her with my Koh-i-noor pencils. These pencils are terrific for coloring on darker cardstocks and the color is really dense. I have the set of 24 and I wish they had more colors but this set is a nice one to add to your collection for sure. The patterned paper is from K&Company and I just picked it up from Michaels using my 40% off coupon. Man, I love those coupons!! Using my circle Nesties I cut a circle out of the patterned paper and then cut another with my Scalloped Nesties. The scalloped edged circle is actually the back side of this paper. The whole paper pack is double sided, which I love. I used some SU dimensionals to lift the patterned paper off of the card base so it has a nice 3D look to it. I finished it off by printing the sentiment and adding a button and a bow. A cutie patootie card for a cutie patootie little girl. Happy Birthday Sam!

Supplies:

Happy Birthday Punkin!

My Mom and Dad have called my daughter "punkin" all her life, so when my Mom asked if I would make my daughter's birthday card for her, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I found this cute pumpkin image over at Whipper Snapper and stamped it onto some SU Very Vanilla CS. I colored it with my Lyra pencils and stitched around the edges. The card base is (do I need to say?) SU Kraft. Love my Kraft paper!! The patterned paper underneath is from My Minds Eye-Grow Collection. This is a really pretty paper collection. Now I know this is supposed to be a Fall stamp but I thought, hey I could make it work for a birthday, right? So, I punched two balloons with my Martha Stewart balloon punch and then drew in some string down to the vine, so it looks like he's holding the balloons. To finish it off, I printed the sentiment and attached it at the bottom. Hey, works for me! Actually, I think it fits her to a tee! We're having a family BBQ for her over at my parent's house today to start off her "birthday week"!! We're BIG on birthdays!! {he-he} Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Bellarific Friday Sketch

It's Friday!! Hoot-hoot!! Don't ya loooovve Fridays??? I do, I do, I do!! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

Here is my card for the Bellarific Friday Sketch. This sketch is by Paula and I think my design turned out FABULOUS! Don't you?

You gotta love Stella. She's my favorite image from StampingBella. I have just about ALL the Stella's. She's such a cutie! Ok, so I stamped my "Spoooky Stella" onto some SU Very Vanilla and colored her with my Copics. I used some chalk ink to sponge around the edges of her and cut her out with my square Nestie. The card base is SU Basic Black and the DP is from Flair Designs. I embossed the cardstock on the bottom half with my Cuttlebug embossing folder "spiderweb" and then used some light gray chalk ink to go over the raised embossed web so it would stand out more. You can click on the image and see the detail of the embossing folder. I also used my Martha Stewart border punch (fence) on the top edge of the same piece and then tied some Jillibean Soup ribbon around the middle. And to add a little bling to Stella, I added some Glamour Dust to her wand and crown. Can't have her going out without some SPAH'KLE, now can we?? The phrases are actually rub ons from Making Memories. On our way to CHA last week, my friends asked me about CB embossing folders and rub ons. I thought to myself, I haven't used either in I don't know how long. So, Linda and Cathy, this is for YOU! Nothing like dragging out some of those OLDIES but GOODIES, huh? Ok, leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of my first Halloween card and I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!

I'm on VAY-KAY-SHUN!

I made this card for my daughter, who starts her VAY-KAY-SHUN today.
She is one EXCITED girl. Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net She's been looking forward to these two weeks off for some time now. So, I just had to make her a card! She gets kinda pouty if I don't make her one occasionally. I spoiled her when she was in college. I sent her a card EVERY week in a surprise package. What a TERRIFIC mom I am!! {he-he} I don't know about that, but I do wuv her bunches!!

I stamped Evelyn, one of my GREAT finds at CHA, onto SU Very Vanilla and colored her with my Copics. I plan to enter her in the Art Impressions card challenge and one stipulation is, you cannot use any other stamps other than Art Impressions. Oooooh! So I thought, how can I make a scene??Hmmmmm?? Well, I ended up just drawing it. It looks pretty good for a first timer, don't ya think? I was pretty proud of myself, anyway. I thought about this card all day yesterday and I knew what I wanted it to look like. It turned out just like my sketch and I just love it and I know she will too. But I have to admit, this is me every weekend! Ha!! I am such a bum on the weekends. Oh, and of course when you look your worst, is when you need to go to the store. Am I right? That's when you think, "Ok, I'll just zip in and out really fast and nobody will see me". RIGHT!!! Never fails!! Somebody is ALWAYS there that you know. Yup! Been there, done that!! Ok, have a great day and leave me a comment and let me know what you think. HAPPY VAY-KAY-SHUN DINKY!

See, I can make nice cards sometimes...

...it's just not that often. My friend JoAnn loves ANY and ALL flower stamps. It's so funny when we go shopping together, I head for the funny stuff and she heads for the frilly stuff. We always get a chuckle out of that.

These little Thank You cards are for my Mother in Law. I have the BEST Mother in Law in the whole wide world - she's such a SWEETIE. She recently needed some Thank You cards so I thought, "hey, I can do that for you." I love being able to help her with things. I picked up these Lockhart images over at Ellen Hutson, LLC. Ellen has a fantastic store and lots of Lockhart stamps. One thing about ordering from Ellen is, she ships FAST. I mean REALLY fast!! I ordered these Friday and had them on Monday. Wow! These cards are the regular A1 note card size and I used my Martha Stewart border punch on the bottom of the front panel. I printed a sentiment inside and then ran them back through the printer for the front sentiment. Then I stamped the images and colored them with my Lyra pencils. Since this is just a single piece of cardstock with no layers, you would see the Copics bleed through on the inside of the card, so I used the pencils instead. This is the first time I've ever used FlowerSoft. I really like the look. It's on the far back image, on the purple flowers (whatever they are!). Can you tell I'm NOT a yard person? Hate, hate, hate yardwork! This is about as close as I get to dirt. He-he! I made 20 of these little guys, so needless to say - I'm pooped!! Ok, let me know what you think and have a great day!

Here are a few close ups:

Multi Tasking #2

Wow, can you believe it's August already? This year is just zooming by. My husband gets so excited when August comes because to him, it means FOOTBALL. {Good grief} Oh well, more time to stamp for me and that's a BIG WOO-HOO in my book!

You may remember this sentiment from a previous card I did for a co-worker back in June. You can see that card here. A friend of mine saw it and asked if I would make her Mom one with this same sentiment but wanted to know if I had an old woman to put on it instead. I'm thinking, surely you jest!! Do I have any old women stamps??? Seriously!!

Ok, so here's the FEMALE version. Love this little lady, don't you? She's from, none other than, Art Impressions. I think I own their entire Golden Oldies line. Hey, what's the point in a collection if ya don't have 'em all, right? This little lady is stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black and colored with my Copics. I matted her with some SU Kraft and Night of Navy CS and stitched around the edge. The DP is from Arctic Frog and matted with Night of Navy that I punched with my Fiskars Apron Lace border punch. I stitched the edge and then tied some SU Kraft taffeta ribbon around the piece. I added a filligree brad and then mounted to the SU Kraft card base. I really like the navy and kraft together. I might have to use this combination for some Christmas cards. Ok, that about does it for me today. Don't forget to leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Have a wonderful day!

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge 76

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a terrific weekend. I thought I'd try another sketch challenge this week. Here is the sketch by Taylor VanBruggen, from Taylored Expressions.

I purchased this cute little stamp set on my last trip to Michael's. They're from Recollections. I'd never seen them before but there were quite a few sets to choose from. Needless to say, I bought several sets on that trip, shocking huh? I started my card with SU Chocolate Chip for my base and stitched on some patterned paper from DCWV Pet's Stack. I stamped my CRAZY COOL cat onto some PaperTrey Ink cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored him with my Copics. I used both my circle and scalloped circle Nesties and popped them up with some dimensionals. I used my SU scalloped border punch along the bottom and tied a bow to finish it off. Ok, leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

Have a purrrrrrrfect day!

Supplies:
Stamp-Recollections; DP-DCWV Pet's Stack; CS-SU Chocolate Chip; Punch-SU Scalloped Border; Ribbon-American Crafts; Embossing Folder-Cuttlebug ; Nestabilities; Copics

CHA Summer 2009

Wow! What fun we had at the CHA Convention and Trade Show in Orlando. It was GRRRREAT!
Lookit who I met??? I was just like one of those teenagers at a concert when I saw Nichole Heady and Taylor Vanbruggen. I couldn't get to my camera fast enough. They are SO SWEET! I was thrilled to meet them both and they were so nice about letting me take their photos.

This is my friend JoAnn and I with Nichole. See that BIG 'ol grin on my face??? I was on Cloud 9. Nichole was such a doll!

We must have walked that show floor a dozen times or more. It seemed like everytime we went back through, we'd see something we missed. Whew! I was BEAT when we finally got home. But WOW, was it worth it!!! Look at my LOOT!!! I think I can proudly say I helped fund Nichole's trip back home. {he-he} I bought lots of PaperTrey Ink cardstock, one of which was the new Pure Poppy red. I thought it was the perfect Christmas red. Of course I couldn't pass up the buttons and ribbon to match! Now what sense would that make? Helloooo!! And you know me, can't pass up an Art Impressions stamp. Yay!! I LOVE Evelyn! And check out the old couple with the HAIR. Oh my gosh, can't wait to use that one! Ok, have a great Sunday!

TCP Tuesday 69

Hey there!! So how'z your weekend going? Mine is fantastic! This is my submission to The Cat's Pajamas' Color Challenge, with hostess Jen del Muro. This is my first TCP Color Challenge so I'm really excited.

I decided to use the Clearly Swanky "Havin' a Pow Wow" set. I just love this set. I stamped my images onto the SU Very Vanilla and colored with my Copics. I did some shading with my Lyra pencils as well and then stitched around the edges. The card base is SU Kraft and the patterned paper is from K & Company. The little plaid ribbon is one of my many finds yesterday at CHA, it's from PaperTrey Ink!! I think it turned out SUPER DUPER cute. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think? Hope you have a great day!

Elzybell Hugs!

Isn't this a sweet image? I just love Elzybells stamps. They are so cute and Elizabeth is so FAST with shipping, even from the UK!
I stamped the image using my Momento Tuxedo Black ink pad and colored with my Copics. I shaded the background with my Lyra pencils and Gamsol. I cut out and embossed both the image and the black CS mat with my classic oval and scalloped oval Nesties. This paper is from the Cosmo Cricket, Hello Sunshine paper pack. I added a strip of red CS and some polka dot ribbon to finish it off. Pretty simple but pretty cute, huh?
