Thank You Cards

Mornin' hens!  I am so excited to show you these Thank You cards I made for Lil' Chick.  I gave these to her as one of her shower gifts.  I even included lined envelopes and personalized stamps.  OMG, I just LOVE how these turned out!

Ok, so I made two sets of cards for her with different designs.  The first set is for those gifts from the baby shower.  Since the shower theme was bumble bees, I decided to use a bumble bee as my image.  To start, I stenciled a light gray background onto each card applying the gray color more in the center and fading the color as I went out.

I found this cute bee image in the Silhouette on line store and using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut the base layer from black cardstock and then cut the face and stripes from yellow cardstock.  I wanted the top layer of the wings to be vellum, but I also wanted them to lift up and I didn't want the adhesive to show through.  So, I welded a skinny bar between both wings, making them one piece, and then hid the bar (along with the adhesive) under the first yellow stripe.  I was so proud of myself for figuring that one out!! I know, it doesn't take much!  LOL!  Ok, so next I added a few details by giving the bee some pink cheeks with a Copic marker and adding some detail to the wings with a white marker.   Then I baked up some homemade black enamel dots and adhered them to the antenna. To finish, I stamped the sentiment below the bumble bee and rounded the two bottom corners.

Next up is the second set of Thank You cards.  I thought these would be great for those gifts that are received at the hospital or after Jaxon is born.  Lil' Chick's colors are gray, navy and red, so I wanted to do the second set in these colors.

I began by using a chevron stencil and applied some distress ink on the background.  Then I found this cute little onesie image in the Silhouette on line store and cut them out of navy and red cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.  I also cut the letter "J" out as well.  Now, I knew I wanted the onesie to appear as if it were on a clothesline but I couldn't figure out how to keep the trifold card closed.  Then it came to me!!

I elongated the crotch of the onesie and cut a slit in the card!! Woo-hoo! I even amazed myself with this one!! {{{snort!}}}

So this is what the whole onesie looks like after I elongated the crotch. I used a black marker to define the rounded edge of the top flap so it would resemble a clothesline. Then, I glued just the shoulders of the onesie to the top flap and added little pieces of brown cardstock to look like clothespins. To finish, I adhered the alternate colored "J" to each onesie and stamped the sentiment to the top of each flap. Aren't they GREAT?? I just love 'em!! Okee dokee, that's it for me today. I hope you hens have a great day and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon! {{{hen hugs}}}
Note: The "thanks" stamp is an older $1 stamp from Michaels (Studio G) and no longer available.Supplies:
