Happy Birthday Lil' Chick!

Mornin' hens!  Today is Lil' Chick's birthday.  She wants to go to shopping at Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree!  Woot-woot! Count me in!  So that's where we're heading today.  The kiddos are staying with the DH and Doug while Lil' Chick and I fill her car with shopping bags! {snort} Anywho, here's the card I made her for her birthday.  Since we were going shopping for her birthday, I thought this stamp was perfect.  It's an older Penny Black stamp.  SO CUTE!!

Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  Hope you hens have a SUPER Sunday!

Happy "4 month" Birthday Ainsley!

Can you believe it?  It's already been 4 months since Lil' Peep was born.  Man, time sure does fly!  It's been super crazy around here since my retirement in February.  I now find myself saying what other retirees always told me (and I would just roll my eyes), "I don't know how I ever got anything done when I worked!" It's true!! That's exactly how I feel.  The DH and I have been going non stop.  I thought I'd have more time to craft but nope, seems we're always repairing or remodeling something around here. Oh well, it keeps us busy and that's a good thing.  So, with that said, I don't have a lot of time to design so I've been stalking Pinterest for card ideas.  It sure takes the stress out of card making but it still gives me the same satisfaction when it comes to coloring.  Oh, I do love to color!   But I certainly want to always give credit to where I found the design so if you want to see the original pin you can click on the link in this post.  So, without further ado, here's Lil' Peep's 4 month birthday card!  It uses Kraft cardstock so you know I love it!  lol!

You can click HERE for the pin by Tara Sell.  Isn't it the cutest!  I used the My Favorite Things "Somebunny" set and colored pencils.  I didn't use Gamsol this time, I just blended using the pencils.  I just love the look of colored pencils on Kraft, don't you?  I wrote "4 months" on the balloon, and then filled it in with Glossy Accents.  Just as Tara did, I added additional accents with a white gel pen.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  Have a SUPER Saturday!  {{{Hen hugs}}}

Welcome Baby Ainsley!

Mornin' hens!  Well, you've probably guessed from the title of this post that my BIG (or should I say little) surprise is Lil' Chick's new peep, Ainsley.  (Hatched March 14th!)

Look at that face. Isn't she picture perfect?  Yup, I'm a proud Grandmommy! Lil' Chick, Doug and Jaxon are all doing great.  What a wonderful family Lil' Chick has.  We're so blessed.

Today Lil' Peep is 2 months old.  If you hens remember, I celebrated a birthday every month for Jaxon, so he we go for Lil' Peep!  lol!!  I made this little pop-up box card after seeing Lawn Fawn's owner Kelly make it on YouTube.  You can watch her video HERE.   I actually already had the stamps but didn't have the scalloped box die.  And what a great die to have so I'm glad I picked this one up. The box is super simple to make and when you use double sided cardstock, it makes it even more awesome.  I made another envelope to go with this card but forgot to take a photo of it.  I'm becoming addicted to making envelopes with my new 1-2-3 punch board.  It sure is a great way to use up a lot of old scrapbook paper I have.  That's a win-win for me!!

Okee dokee, well that's it for me today.  I'll leave you hens with a photo of my two sweet babies.  I hope you all have a MAH-VELOUS Monday and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.  {{{hen hugs}}}

Happy Mother's Day!

Evening hens!  Just wanted to pop in and show you these three Mother's Day cards I made, and of course to wish all mothers a wonderful day on Sunday! Isn't being a mom one of God's GREATEST gifts?

I saw this card by Kelly Alvarez on the Simon Says Stamp You Tube channel and fell in love with it, and therefore ordered every stamp and die to make them for Mother's Day this year.  I just love how they turned out.  Each jar is a shaker box with sequins inside and a jar shaped card with a printed Mother's Day greeting is attached to the back.  It's not visible from the photo but if you watch the YouTube video HERE you'll see how Kelly made it.  I also used my 1-2-3 punch board to make the envelope boxes for each.  While these cards do fit into an A2 envelope, I felt it was a bit big as well as lumpy looking, so I decided to make an envelope boxes for each from old scrapbook paper.  Take care, and stop back by next week for a special post from the hen house, ok?  {{{hen hugs}}}

My Valentine's Day Cards

Mornin' hens!
Wow, I can't believe it's been a year and a half since my last post.  Not much has changed since my last post.  We've been enjoying our Grandson, Jaxon as much as possible. He's so stinkin' cute and so much fun! Lil' Chick, Doug and Jaxon live about an hour away, so we don't see them as much as we would like, but the DH and I usually stay a weekend with them at least once a month. Jaxon is 3 years old now.  I know, crazy right? Where does the time go?  The DH retired on November 30th and I retire in 3 weeks!!  Woot-woot!!  Seriously, I can hardly wait.  But of course the biggest news is Lil' Chick is expecting!!!  Yippeee!!  It's a GIRL too, and she's due mid March.  Yep, my retirement couldn't come at a better time.  Yippee!!  I'll be staying with Lil' Chick for a few weeks after Ainsley arrives to help her out.  Yes, that's her name, Ainsley.  Isn't it adorable?  Ok, well that's the latest from the hen house.  Oh yeah, Santa did bring me an Instant Pot for Christmas so I've been doing more cooking lately than anything else.  I did make a sign for Ainsley's nursery wall.   But other than the sign, my crafting has taken a back seat to cooking.  That was until I saw Nichol Spohr's YouTube video pop up on my feed and I just had to make these little cuties for Valentine's Day.

Aren't those scalloped doily hearts the cutest?  The images and dies are all from Lawn Fawn.

I didn't have the exact plaid stamp that Nichol used, but I found one in my stash that I felt was close enough.

Oh, isn't this smore the cutest?  Nichol had a die for the arrow, but I didn't want to purchase a die set for just that, so I cut mine with my Silhouette Cameo.

Nichol made a light pink background as well, but I didn't have the correct ink color for the plaid background so I chose not to do any pink backgrounds.  I really love this teal though.

One of the new things she used, at least it was new for me, was Nuvo Crystal Drops.  That's what makes those little white gel dots around the edge of the hearts.  Wow, this stuff was great.  Very thick, almost like paint, and it dries raised, shiny and smooth.  I really like it.

And here's the last one.  Don't they look like candy?  I really love how they turned out.
Ok, well that's it for me today.  I'll do my best to link some of the items I used below if you're interested.  Thanks for stopping by!  {{{hen hugs}}}
