To tell the tooth!!

Mornin' hens!  Isn't this little guy CUTE?  Ya know, when it comes to old people or cute animals, I have a hard time deciding which stamp to use.  LOL!   This card is for my nephew Ryan's birthday.  He's such a sweetie!  It's hard to tell by the photo, but the circles were done using clear embossing paste and a stencil, and then I applied some distress ink on top. It looks just like rings on a tree doesn't it?  I was so excited with how this turned out.  I stamped the image onto another piece of Kraft cardstock and colored it with Faber Castell Polychromo pencils.  To finish, I added some wooden stars, gingham ribbon (from Michaels) and rounded the bottom corners.  Okee dokee that's it for me today!  I hope you hens have a MAH-VELOUS Monday!

With Sympathy

Mornin' hens!  I know I've said it before, this isn't the type of card I'm good at making but I was rather pleased with how this one turned out.  I wanted to try die cutting felt so I thought I'd give it a go with these small flowers.

I attempted to die cut them like I would cardstock but it didn't make a clean cut so I used a metal shim plate and that made all the difference in the world.  Perfectly clean cut with no frayed edges. I freehand cut the flower centers and used some gold embroidery thread to sew the two pieces together.  I added some thin strips of cardstock on both the top and bottom edge of the DP to complete the clean monochromatic look.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a TEE-RIFIC Thursday.  {{{hen hugs}}}

Happy Anniversary Lil' Chick & Doug!

Mornin' hens!  Today is Doug & Lil' Chick's 2nd wedding anniversary.  Can you believe it's already been 2 years since her wedding?  Wow, how time flies!
Now don't ask me how this happened, but last year I didn't make them a card!  Eeeeek!  Seriously, I still can't believe it.  But you can bet your bottom dollar that Lil' Chick has not let me forget it either.  Bwah-ha-ha-ha!  Ok, so in order to win my way back into her good graces, I went above and beyond this year.  Tee-hee!  I made this cute little card for them and bought them a present to boot!

Whatcha think of my wrapping?  I saw this idea on Pinterest where shapes are cut from the kraft wrapping paper to reveal the second wrapping paper underneath.  Well I couldn't resist giving it a go.  I bought some cheap red wrapping paper at the Dollar General store and then cut half hearts from the kraft wrapping paper before I wrapped it.  Then I just folder the hearts back on themselves and put a bow on top!  Cool huh?  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a great Monday!  {{{hen hugs}}}
