It's Turkey Time!

Mornin' hens!

TURKEY FUN FACT #5 - Did you know Ben Franklin wanted the turkey as our national bird, rather than the bald eagle?  Makes perfect sense to me, seein' how most of my money gets GOBBLED up by the government anyhow!  LOL!!

Ok, so this is my final Thanksgiving card and it happens to be my FAVORITE too!  I used the Turkey Time set from Whipper Snapper and stamped the pilgrim couple and the turkey onto some Strathmore Bristol paper.  I colored the images with Copics and Faber Castell Polychromo pencils and fussy cut them out.  I mounted them onto the DP with some foam tape and adhered the sentiment below.  To finish, I wrapped some natural twine on the bottom and secured it with a button.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I'm off to make some pumpkin pies and get ready for some SERIOUS eating.  Mmmm-mmmm!  I hope you hens have a WILD TURKEY Wednesday!  {{{hen hugs}}}

  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Chief Crafty Pants says...

Mornin' hens!

TURKEY FUN FACT #4 - Did you know the red growth under the turkeys' chin is called a "wattle" and turns bright red when he's upset.  Hmmm, turns all red when he doesn't get his way... Are you seeing the same similarities as me? LOL!

OMG, I just love this card.  He makes me giggle every time I look at him.  I did a little masking with this card, as I wanted the chief to be holding the turkey leg so it would go along with the Gobble until we Wobble sentiment.  So I stamped the turkey leg first, masked it off, and then stamped the chief.  I added the three fingers on top of the turkey leg so it would look like he was gripping it.  I think it turned out pretty cool.  I colored the image with Copics and Faber Castell Polychromo pencils and added some washi tape underneath.  To finish, I rounded two corners and tied on some natural twine secured with a button.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today, I hope you hens have MASHED POTATO Monday!  {{{hen hugs}}}

Thankful

Mornin' hens!
TURKEY FUN FACT #3 - Did you know turkeys have great hearing, but no external ears?  They also can see in color, and have a wide field of vision which makes sneaking up on them difficult.  They can run approximately 20mph, and fly 55mph.  Run - Tom - Run!!!

Ok, so I used the same stamp set from Monday and Wednesday for this card too, but I wanted the pilgrim lady to be holding soemthing, so I found this turkey on one of my Whipper Snapper Designs sets and it worked perfectly.  I also wanted to use a new die I purchased from Papertrey Ink recently.  I die cut the word "thankful" from brown cardstock, but stopped short of running the die all the way through the BigShot so the bottom of the word wouldn't cut.  Then I ran the bottom half of the brown cardstock through the Big Shot again using an embossing folder to add some texture.  To finish, I rounded two corners, added a few brads, and tied a bubbly bow with some saddle stitched ribbon.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a FESTIVE Friday!  {{{hen hugs}}}
