For Our Lil' Turkey!

Mornin' hens!
TURKEY FUN FACT #2 - Did you know male turkeys are called "Gobblers" and females are called "Hens".  OMG, how appropriate is that, right??  {{{Snort}}}

Here's another birthday card for Jaxon.  He's 2 months old now.  Can you believe it?  Wow, that went by fast!  Anyhoo, I had to make him a 2 month birthday card AND buy a gift to go with it, right? LOL!  I bought him a sleeper that reads My First Thanksgiving on the front.  It's so CUTE!  I just couldn't resist.  I was originally going to use the turkey that I used on yesterday's card below, but I wanted something a little cuter.  So I pulled out another Paper Smooches set and used the chicken from it and stamped the feather onto different pattern papers behind it.  Of course, it needed a snood (yesterday's fun fact for those of you just joining us), so I drew one freehand, colored it and attached it to his beak.  Isn't it GREAT?  I printed the sentiment onto the yellow DP and then matted the panel with another DP and finally brown cardstock.  I splattered the Kraft Cardstock with some white paint just to give it some interest, and I really love the look it gives.  To finish, I tied on some natural twine, secured with a button, and rounded the corners!  That's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a Tom Turkey Tuesday!!  {{{hen hugs}}}

Let's Gobble Until We Wobble

Mornin' hens!  I'll be sharing my Thanksgiving cards with you this week and next, and I decided to share some turkey fun facts with you too.
TURKEY FUN FACT #1 - Do you know what that little doo hicky is that hangs off their beak?  It's called a "snood".  Hmmm, ya think that's where we get the term "snoody" from?  LOL!!

I only made a few Thanksgiving cards, but guess what?  I LOVE all of them!  Ok, that hardly EVER happens to me.  Is it that way with you?  I guess I'm my own worst critic.  LOL!  Here's the first card, isn't it a riot?  I saw this idea by Emily Leiphart on Pinterest, and couldn't resist giving it try.  You can see Emily's version HERE.   By cutting the polymer between the turkey's legs, you are then able to bend each leg independently and you can make them wobble and dance!  LOL!  I LOVE it!  After stamping the images, I colored my turkeys with Faber Castell Polychromo pencils and wrapped some twine around the middle and secured it with a button.  To finish, I rounded both bottom corners and added some shine to the "snood".  See all the cool things you learn visiting the "hen house"!  Bwah-ha-ha-ha!  Okee dokee that's it for me today!  Have a MAYFLOWER Monday!  {{{hen hugs}}}

Happy Birthday BFF!!

Mornin' hens!
I made this card for my best friend Sarah.  She and I have been friends since middle school when we rode the school bus together.  Every year, I find a surprise she's sent to me for my birthday.  She never forgets!  It's not often that I hear from any of my old classmates, but it's not that way with Sarah.  We've always stayed in touch.  Oh and she's got a great sense of humor too, so I know she's gonna bust a gut when she gets this card.  It's so US!!!

Yep, during my childhood, we took care of ourselves! And your best friend ALWAYS had your back!  Oh, and it helped that she was 2 years older than me too! Bwah-ha-ha-ha!
Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a TREMENDOUS Thursday!

Tarnation!

TARNATION!!  Another birthday??  Yup, this here one is for my brother in law Randy!  LOL!  OMG, he's gonna love it!
This is a digital image I've had for a loooong time.  It's called "Hillbilly Moonshine" from Bonibeaux Designs.  However, I can't seem to find the company on line.  I'm not sure if they've gone out of business or not.  Anyhoo, I printed the image onto Strathmore Bristol paper and colored it with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils.  I added some background dots with my Copics and stamped the sentiment above.  To finish, I drew some thin lines around the edges to frame the card and added some homemade enamel dots.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today!  I hope you hens have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!  {{{hen hugs}}}
