It's SNOW time!

Well, not hardly but I can wish can't I??? This little penguin is from Inky Antics and he's Christmas card #11 for those of you keeping track. Oh yeah, I wanted to give you an update to those challenges I had in mind to catch up on this past weekend... guess what??? I finished them ALL! Waaa-hoooooo! I can't believe I got them all done! Whew! Ok, now back to my craft room... {he-he}

I stamped him onto some SU Very Vanilla CS and colored him with my Copics. Of course, since it's SNOW, I couldn't resist the urge to use my Liquid Applique to make some puffy snow under him. Yay! I do love using this stuff! I'm just like a kid waiting for it to dry so I can watch it puff up when I heat it. Oooooooh, too cooooooool!! The directions say for best results to wait overnight, phooey on that!! I can't wait that long! Ok, so after that bit of excitement, I stitched around the edges and mounted him onto some DP from My Minds Eye which just screams COLD doesn't it? I just think that aqua color is so perfect for winter. I know, you're thinking "what's a Florida girl know about winter?" You're right, but I bet you'd hear me whoop and holler all the way to your house if it snowed here. My hubby says it's nice to look at but you wouldn't want to live with it, "day in and day out". I don't know about that, I'd sure be willing to give it a try. Ok, back to the card, so I used my MS border punch on the bottom and matted it with some SU Cool Caribbean (I wished they still carried that color, I do love it so) and punched the bottom of it as well. I tied some new SU Polka Dot ribbon around the piece and matted it to the card base of SU Very Vanilla too! Hey, I bet you'd never guess my good friend JoAnn is a SU demonstrator. Hmmmmm, how'd you guess? {he-he} I mounted my little penguin with some SU dimensionals but he still needed something else, so I added the snowflake for the finishing touch! Here he comes..... swoooooooosh! Leave a comment below and I hope you have a great {COLD} day {somewhere}!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

  1. I love this christmas card. The teal green sets it of great.

  2. This is so cute and yes that show looks so cute. Great job.

  3. He's too cute! I really like the teal color combo. It gives a great modern "icy" feel. While I live in VA now, I'm a North Dakota girl. It can be fun to live through the snow days. But it does make you appreciate the warmer weather, too.

  4. Absolutely darling... Love this, Jeanie!

  5. Oh WOW Jeanie, I just love this color combo and this penguin is just cracking me up. Awesome, just awesome!!!!

  6. aww, so cute! Now that the last long weekend of summer is done, I'm fully looking ahead to Fall/Winter! Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. Love, love love the puffy snow. The punched out border adds a nice touch. Can't go wrong with a penguin!

  8. Very cute, I just love his face. I also like the background.

  9. Boy is he having some fun, love the colors to and the snow great job. Teresa(sis)
