LCI Grand Finale!!

Mornin' hens!  I'm so sad about today's post, as this is Ladybug Crafts Ink grand finale.  Kerry has decided to close her store and has invited all past and present DT members to participate in this last challenge.  The challenge is "use your favorite image".  You'll want to check out the LCI website too because Kerry's having a phenomenal sale!

Ok, so I dug through my LCI collection and found this little ol guy from the Wrinkley's collection.  Isn't he cute with his little combover!!  Bwah-ha-ha-ha!  I stamped the image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and color him with my Copics.  Then I stamped the image onto two patterned papers for both the chair and the rug and paper pieced the image together on the card base, and embossed the stamped sentiment below.  To finish, I rounded the corners and added some Glossy Accents to his spectacles.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today!  Don't forget to pop on over to the LCI website and check out the sale!  You can never have too many stamps right??  Tee-hee!!

Baby Gift Cards

Mornin' hens!  Here are three little gift cards I made for my shower gifts to Lil Chick.
Each gift card is 3x3 and I think they turned out SO CUTE!!

The first one uses an image called "Pram Baby Baby" from Ladybug Crafts Ink.  I colored the image with my Copics and added a little grounding with some Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  To finish, I added a few blue Swarovski crystals to the bow and wheels and embossed around the edges.

Next, I used "Sleeping Baby Baby" from Ladybug Crafts Ink and colored him with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  Again, I used a few blue Swarovski crystals and embossed the edges.

And the last gift card uses "We're Expecting" from Simon Says Stamp! I stamped the images onto some DP and paper pieced the images.  I did add a little grounding with some Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and matted the panel to some navy cardstock using my Perfect Layers mini tool.  To finish, I freehanded the speech bubble and added a few drops of black enamel to the eyes. Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a great day and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.  {{{hen hugs}}}

Happy Mother's Day to my FMIL!

Mornin' hens! What's a FMIL you ask?  Well that's my nickname for my Favorite Mother In Law!  Tee-hee!  I call her my FMIL and she calls me her FDIL!  LOL!  I really do have the BESTEST MIL ever!  She's such a blessing to me and has the BIGGEST heart.  Love you bunches Midgee!! I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
I thought this would be a cute card for her since my DH was a bit of a booger as a kid so I thought she'd get a kick out of this image.  Looks like something my DH would do. LOL! I can just see him pulling up flowers from a flower bed to give to his mom.  (snort!) Ok, so this image is "Guilty Jack" from Ladybug Crafts Ink.  Kerry currently has this stamp on sale at 70% off!  Get 'em while they last!  I stamped Jack onto some SU Very Vanilla and then colored him with my Copics.  I cut him out with my circle Nestabilities and matted him with scalloped my Nestabilities using SU Cherry Cobbler CS.  I stitched the DP from My Minds Eye (On the Sunny Side) to some SU Very Vanilla and then tied on this crocheted ribbon.  To finish I printed this sentiment and punched it out with my tiny tag punch.  Have a great day!  {{{hen hugs}}}

That's Krafty Thursday #60

WOWZERS!!! Can you hens believe this is the 60th TKT challenge? My how time flies! It seems like just yesterday I announced that Thursdays in the hen house were going to be called That's Krafty Thursdays. I'm so glad you hens enjoy playing along in my TKT challenges too, cuz I {heart} looking at your KRAFTY creations. So, since this is a milestone TKT challenge, I want a record bunch of entries, k? Whoopee! Lot's of eye candy for the Chicken! And to start you off, here's a KRAFTY creation from lil' ol' me. This is Magnum (the cutest cat ever!) from Ladybug Crafts Ink. Did you all know that LCI went digi? Ummmm, how cool is that? Images delivered quickly, no shipping AND you can make them any size you choose! Love that! For my card, I actually combined two images to create this design, one is Catflap Magnum and the other is Birthday Cake Robyn. I really like how this turned out too! Oooooh, I just love it when that happens. Tee-hee! Ok so I started with coloring Magnum and then I cut him out. Next, I colored the balloons from the Robyn image and cut them out as well. I adhered strings behind the balloons and then threaded them through Magnum's paw! I adhered the image inside the square frame to resemble Magnum popping through! I printed the sentiment directly on the DP and adhered the frame and image above the sentiment. I finished by tying a cute bubbly bow with this cute ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel! Woo-hoo! Ok, now it's your turn! It's SUPER EASY to play along in my TKT challenges. Just create any project using Kraft colored card stock and link it up below by Wednesday, April 25th at 7:00pm EST. I'll announce the TOP CHICK PICKS on Thursday April 26th and in addition, the winners will receive Clara The Krafty Chick badge for their blog, so everyone can see they're a Krafty Chick! Awwwwwk! Ok, ya ready? Let's GO!!!
Have a terrific Thursday! {{{hen hugs}}}

Recipe Swap "In Print"

Hiya hens! Havin' a good weekend are ya? Well I've been sitting' in the hen house playin' today, so you know I'm havin a good one! Tee-hee! Today's card is part of the Quick Fire round over at Catered Crop and this week's FEATURED INGREDIENT is PRINT! As luck would have it, one of the designs in my new little paper pack from My Minds Eye looks just like a newsprint too. Woo-hoo! How perfect is that? I've been itching to make one of these paper flowers, so I decided I was gonna give it a go today with some of this newsprint DP. Not sure if I did it exactly how I remembered seeing it, but I think it's cute! This little image is called Cupcake Ruby from Ladybug Crafts Ink. Isn't she pretty? Now I must admit, when Kerry first asked me to be a guest designer for her, I said "Oooooh, I LOVE Magnum & Lily!" cuz you hens know I LOVEEEEE funny! But she wanted me to give Ruby a try too, so I said, "Ummmmm, I don't know Kerry... I can't do PRETTY!" She was like, "come on, give it a try!" Ok, so now I'm hoping you hens will tell me I did OK with PRETTY!

Here's the card details: First I started by cutting out four 2.5" scalloped circles from the newsprint DP using my Nestabilities. I crumpled them up and added some distress ink to the wrinkles. Then I sprayed them with some Shimmer Mist and let them dry. Next, I added a glob of white glue to the center of each and then pinched the centers as I stacked them on top of each other. I finished by adding a coordinating circle of DP and pearl brad to the center and set the flower aside to dry. I stamped my image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics. I added some sparkle to the image with my Gelly Roll metallic pen but I'm not sure if you can see that in the photo. It's SUPER pretty IRL. I cut her out with my scalloped oval Nestabilities and sponged some chalk ink around the edges. Here's a tutorial on that technique if you've never seen it done. As for the design, I followed the Viva La Verve sketch here. I've seen several hens use this design this week and I just LOVED it!

Well that's it! Now it's your turn to hop on over to the Catered Crop and give it a go yourself. Linda has tons more inspiration to get your MOJO up an running! Okee dokee hens, that's it for me today! I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon. Don't forget, you've still got 4 more days to enter my That's Krafty Thursday challenge! YOU just might be the new KRAFTY CHICK! Awwwwkkkkkk! {{{hen hugs}}}

So "Beary" sweet!

Mornin' hens! Isn't this card CUTE? How could you not fall for this cute little guy? Makes me wanna {{squeeze}} him! Tee-hee!
I made this card for a friend who needed a card for a baby shower. The mother is expecting a BOY and her theme is Bears. Isn't this the perfect image? I just love it when a plan comes together! Yay!
Ok, I stamped the image from the "Baby Baby" set from Ladybug Crafts Ink onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored him with my Copics. I cut the image out with my Nesties and sponged some chalk ink around the edges. I popped the image up with a few dimensionals and tied this coordinating ribbon around the panel. I stitched around all the panel edges and added the Baby Boy's name below the ribbon in the shape of a banner. I can smell the BABY POWDER now! *sniff-sniff*

Today's card is also a MID-WEEK reminder for my That's Krafty Thursday challenge. The challenge doesn't close until November 9th at 7:oopm EST, so you've still got plenty of time to play along. Just make any ol' project using some Kraft colored card stock, then link your project below on my That's Krafty Thursday post. I can't wait to see what Krafty projects you hens have up your wings!! {{{{hen hugs}}}

Thinking of you...

Mornin' hens.... Ya'll ready for the weekend? Pffft! Do bears poop in the woods? Hellooooooo? You bet I am! Seems like the weekend has taken FOREVER to get here. Now for those hens who are nestin' on the East coast of the States, ya'll take cover now, and go roost somewhere else for the weekend. This hen's been through enough hurricanes to last me a lifetime and they're nothing to take lightly, lemme tell ya. Better safe - than sorry, my Momma always told me.

Ok, now onto this FABBY card I made! Tee-hee! Nothin' like tootin' my own horn huh? I made this card for a co-worker of mine who's havin' a birthday comin' up shortly. I think she's gonna LOVE this one. I used "Gossip Nikki", one of the GREAT images from the Nikki & Friends range over at LadyBug Crafts Ink. The sentiment is from the "It's only Words 4" set. Ya know, I think I've mentioned this before, but it's worth repeating. These LCI acrylic stamps leave the cleanest, crispest image I've ever seen for acrylic. I know sometimes when using acrylic, they just don't stamp off as nice as rubber does. Well, these do!! Absolutely a PERFECT image every time! I colored the image with my Copics and cut it out with my oval Nestabilities. Leaving the die in place, I've added a little chalk ink around the edges for this subtle sponged background look around the image. If you've never seen this technique, I have a video tutorial on it HERE. I've also, used my brand spankin' new Pretty Posies Die-namics from My Favorite Things to make this SUPER CUTE flower! Ain't it purty? I just LOVE this card. Again, this is part of that new Fancy Pants paper pack that I've fallen in LOVE with. GOR-JUSS!

This card is also doing double duty for the Catered Crop's FTR 19. Here's this week's recipe:

  • Colors – jewel tones of pink, violet and blue, gold/yellow and brown
  • Stamps and Stickers – gears or clock works, wizards and magic, butterflies, text/script, sentiment
  • Color Mediums – stamping/distress ink, markers (ProMarker, Copics), and acrylic paint
  • Embellishments – ribbon, brads, tags, polymer clay, glitter/Stickles
  • Techniques – mix-media, collage, use and/or layer digital stamps, edge the card with paint
Now it's super simple to play along in the Catered Crop's FTR (Follow the Recipe) challenge. Just use any one of the above ingredients in your project and link it up over at the Catered Crop. I've highlighted those ingredients that I've used in my card above.
Okee dokee, that's it from the hen house today. I hope you hens all have a wonderful weekend and STAY SAFE! {{{hen hugs}}}

Stamps - Lady bug Crafts Ink; DP - Fancy Pants; Border Punch - Martha Stewart; Die-namics - Pretty Posies by MFT; Twine; Copics; Nestabilities; Chalk Ink, Grosgrain Ribbon - Michael's

Well if yer like me, yer just itchin' to get started and we've got one DANDY hop in store for you hens today! Ya see, Kerry... {Queenie - as we lovingly call her!} well she's got a BRAND SPANKIN NEW release goin' on today AND she's doin' this little BLOG HOP to celebrate!! Ooooh, and there's lots of chances to win a prize too!!
Now, if ya just happened to pop into the hen house today, be sure to start back at the beginning of the hop HERE so as not to miss ANY eye candy along the way!

But first, let's get down to the bizness at hand - the Hop!! Each of the Ladybug Crafts Ink DT will be featuring one of the new images. There are 4 new images in all and I'm sure you'll agree when you see their creations, these new images are SUH-WEET!

Now 'member them prizes I told ya 'bout? Well, here's whatcha gotta do...

1) Visit each of the DT members' blogs and leave a "cluck" on each of their blog hop posts.
2) Leave a comment on the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog once you have finished the hop.
3) Display the blog hop banner above on your blog, either in a post or on your side bar.

See, easy as 1, 2, 3!!!

The First Prize is all 4 images in the new release and there are 4 runner up prizes of one new image each. Winners will be chosen at random!

The hop will close at 12pm GMT on Monday May 2nd and the winner will be announced at 9am GMT on Tuesday, May 3rd.

Ok, ya ready for muh' card??? Here ya go!!! Shoooweee, I can smell the suntan lotion from here!! LOL!

Well, I figured livin' in Florida I HAD to use the beach bag and flip flops right? I mean, are there any other kinda shoes??? LOL! (Well, not here there ain't!) So, I decided to color my bag like a woven basket with glass handles and then using my Exacto knife, cut around the flip flops so I could slide this SAND designer paper behind them so they'd look as if they were kicked off in the sand. The rest of the image was cut with my circle Nestie and I sponged a little distress ink around the edges. The sentiment comes with the set and of course, one of the COOLEST things you can do with clear stamps is BEND them.... so I bent the sentiment to match the curve of the die.

What's that? Oh yeah, that AWESOME twill ribbon, YEP that's from Ladybug Crafts Ink too! Isn't it SUPER CUTE? Oh and wait, it doesn't stop there, she sells the FELT as well! Now I admit, I've been seein' this felt on several blogs lately but hadn't tried it myself..... WELL LET ME TELL YOU, this stuff is TOO MUCH FUN! SUPER EASY to cut too! I just ran it through my Cuttlebug and it cut just like BUTTAH! LOVE IT! MUST get MORE colors NOW! Eeeek!

Okee dokee, that'll do it for this hen today. Your next stop on the hop is AMANDA and you hens better hold tight to yer perch, cuz' she's gonna BLOW YOU AWAY! {{{hen hugs}}}
