Lil' Chick's Expecting!!!!

OMG! OMG! OMG!
I'm gonna be a GRANDMA!!Smiley  I'm SO excited, I can hardly contain myself!! Of course, I had to make my Lil' Chick the most AWESOME card ever, right?  Can ya tell I'm a wee bit proud?  Tee-hee!  Well, it just relates to how ecstatic I am about the BIG news!!  Ok, so I stamped the little lady onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics.  Next, I cut the letters B and G using my Silhouette Cameo from both the DP and again from SU Early Expresso cardstock using the offset function.  I printed the sentiment onto some SU Kraft CS, folded it into a banner form and adhered it to the top of the DP using a few dimensionals for support.  To finish, I matted the DP using my Perfect Layers tool, stitched around the edges of each panel, and then tied some swiss dot ribbon around the base.

Now I hear being a Grandma is like the BEST thing ever.  So, I'd love for you to leave me a comment below and tell me what the BEST part of being Grandma is for you.  I'd LOVE to hear all about it.  Oh, and tell me what do your grandchildren call you.  I'm trying to decide if I want to be called Grandma or something else.  Ok, I hope you hens have a TERRIFIC Tuesday and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon!  {{{hen hugs}}}

Supplies:
Stamps - Michaels Dollar Bin; CS - SU Kraft & Early Expresso; Ribbon - Offray; Silhouette Cameo; Copics; DP - My Minds Eye "Dream"; Perfect Layers Tool

  6. Congratulations! Fabulous card. I love the design - so clever.

    I'm not planning on being a grandma for quite some time...but I wanted to share the name my friend's mom chose when she became a grandma - Grammy. Yeah, meaning the music award. I've always though that was kinda cool.

  10. Congratulations! Even though I put both of my children on a four-year plan, they didn't stick to the plan - so no grandchildren for me. I'm so jealous. Enjoy.

  12. OMG, OMG,OMG is for Sure! CONGRATULATIONS. I am soooo Happy for all of you. We are Grandma and Papa here. I can not think of just one great thing about being a grandparent. (There are millions.) The love you see your child experiencing, being able to spoil said child rotten. (it is a Grandparent's job.) The 1st time the precious little one calls you Grandma, Oma, Nana or what ever they can pronounce. My father told me if he had know how much fun it would be to be a Grandpa he would have done that 1st! Big Hugs to all....

  13. Congrats & fabulous card, as always! It is perfect for the BIG occasion!!
    My boys call my MIL "Grammy", and my mom started out as Omie, but is now "Baa" (pronounced like the "baa" of sheep). Strange yes, BUT, when my oldest nephew (1st grandchild) was little, he and my mom would play hide-n-seek. He couldn't say BOO, instead he said BAA. Shortly thereafter, he began to refer to her as "BAA" whenever he wanted her attention and it stuck!! It is unique to her, has a very special meaning behind it, and now that's what EVERYBODY calls her, including the adults!! LOL!!

  14. Wow this is the most awesome card ever! Love it and so excited for you!! I can't wait to see all the special birthday cards you do for the grandbaby. Not sure if your husband has picked a name yet but a gril I work with her grandchildren call her husband G-Daddy. I think that is super cute. Not so sure G-Mommy works though so my vote is for Grammy. On your card, the little lady stamp worked so perfect as the I where did you find her if you don't mind me asking?

  20. What a darling card!! Being a grandma is the BEST!! I have 4 grands and they are wonderful. We are Papa and Gigi. I was Grammy in the beginning with our first. I helped with childcare, my daughter is a teacher, and he couldn't say Grammy and started saying Gigi and it stuck. With my friends we have a wide range everything from Abby, Gigi, Grandma, Mimi, and Nana. What ever your special name the first time you hear that precious little one say it your heart just melts. I love your blog. Congratulations and welcome to the best club ever!
