Lil Chick's Baby Shower

Mornin' hens! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I've been busy working on projects for Lil' Chick's baby shower!  I can hardly wait to share the day's events with you.  It was a beautiful day and everything turned out perfect!  I couldn't have asked for anything better for my little girl!

I made this sign for the door using my Silhouette Cameo.  Have I told you lately how much I looooove this machine?  Seriously, it's AWESOME!   The beehive has multiple layers that I separated with foam tape.  I loved the cool 3D look.

The color scheme was yellow, gray, and white, with back accents.  We used bumble bees as the theme and it was so cute!!

The flowers on each table were an assortment of yellow and white flowers, with sprigs of velvety gray fillers all arranged in a gray vase.  They were gorgeous!

The appetizers were Caprese skewers, fresh fruit brochettes, and chicken brochettes.  OMG, they were so delicious.  And what a display the caterers made.  They looked too pretty to eat!

Caprese appetizers are my FAV!!  I could have eaten this whole platter!!

Ok, now is this cake the cutest thing or what??  Acccck!  I just fell in love with it.  My cousin's wife made it!  She's AMAZING!!  Her business is Cake Concepts by Lynn if you would like to see more of her work.

For lunch the guests were treated to this AWESOME salad bar served in martini glasses!
How clever is that?

I made this little sign for the basket of diapers using the print feature on my Silhouette Cameo.  I matted the sign with yellow cardstock using my Perfect Layers tool, and then finished by stamping the stork and baby and colored them with my Copics.  We did two projects with the guests.  Lil Chick doesn't much like games at showers, so she opted for projects for the guests to make.  The first project was to write messages on the diapers that will only be used by Lil Chick in the wee morning hours.  The guests had great fun with this.  Lil Chick's grandmother wrote "I'm sleeping quite soundly right now"  Tee-hee! The second project was making a wooden alphabet block set.  I'll post a picture of that project later once I've finished applying the sealer to the blocks.

These are the party favors made by one of Lil Chick's best friends, Alicia!  I LOVED this idea!

Alicia asked me to make the tags for her.  I made background honeycomb design using the print feature on my Silhouette Cameo.  Then I typed the message in MSWord and copy and pasted it multiple times until I filled up the full sheet of card stock.  Next, I cut out out each tag using a tag die and stamped the little bee image onto each tag.  I colored the bee with my Copics and applied some Wink of Stella glitter and Glossy Accents to the wings.  I mailed the tags to her and she made these cute favors using decorative glass votive cups with Yankee candles.  Goodness they smell good!

Here's a look at the gift table!!  Ummm, looks like we're gonna be here awhile!!  LOL!

We bought this little chalkboard sign at Hobby Lobby, and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the word "Gifts" from white adhesive vinyl.

Lil Chick and her two BFF's Cheryl and Alicia!
Such SWEET girls!

I just LOVE this picture of Lil Chick.  She's just glowing!!  OMG, I can hardly wait for my little grandson Jaxon to get here!!

Now, it wouldn't be fair if Daddy didn't get a little gift too, right?  Tee-hee!
Actually, my sister wanted to give him a special gift and asked if I could make her a gift tag that read "Daddy to Bee".  So, of course I did!  I found a clip art bee on line and made the tag in MSWord.  I colored the bee with Copics and cut it out with a gift tag die.  I added some faux stitching with my tracing wheel and tied on some black and white baker's twine.  Now, my sister lives in the middle of an orange grove and has an apiary near her home.  She gets this AMAZING orange blossom honey and Doug just goes crazy over it.  So, she put some in a bag and gave it to him before the shower while he was helping us set up.  Too cute!

This picture says it all.  He LOVED it!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my son in law!!  And he was such a BIG help to us!!  Thanks Doug!

Ok, well that's it for the shower photos.  What an AMAZING time we had, and Lil Chick received so many wonderful gifts.  I have more things to show you that I made so stay tuned!
Have a GREAT day and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon!  {{{hen hugs}}}
