Happy Anniversary!

Awwwww, aren't they sweet?  I've been itchin' to use my new branch die that I received for my birthday.  I think it works perfectly on this card, don't you?

Ok, so I began by cutting a piece of white card stock using the Mama Elephant Femme Frame die.  Then I masked off just the scalloped edges and stamped the star background with Versamark ink.  I applied white embossing powder, heat embossed them, and then sponged on the blue distress ink.  Now because the blue ink won't stick to the embossed stars, I just took a tissue and wiped the stars a bit to remove any excess blue ink, and then I removed the masking tape along the scalloped edges.  Awww, pretty white stars in a night sky, with a white scalloped border!  Perfect!

Ok, so then I cut a circle in the star panel and placed a piece of yellow card stock underneath.  After marking the yellow card stock for the area showing through the circle, I sponged some yellow distress ink around the edges to give the moon some dimension.  I adhered the star panel to navy card stock with foam tape, and then using my Perfect Layers Mini tool and Perfect Cutting Mat, I created the perfect mat behind my star panel!  I punched the owls, and die cut the branch, from black card stock and adhered them to the star panel in front of the moon.  I made the banner using the same navy card stock and heat embossed the stamped sentiment using white embossing powder.  I added a few punched red hearts and applied some glitter with my Wink of Stella glitter pen and added some Glossy Accents on top.  All that's left is to adhere the matted panel to the Kraft card base.

Suh-weeeeeeet!

Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a great day and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.  {{{hen hugs}}}

And yet ANOTHER retirement card...

 Enough already!!  I wanna retire too!!

LOL!  This little card is for a a fellow co-worker of mine who's a BIG fan of my cards!  So of course, he's a GREAT friend of mine....  Bwah-ha-ha-ha!!  No seriously, he's a SUPER nice guy and I'm thrilled for him (and a little jealous too! Ok, a LOT jealous!  Pffft!)  Anyhoo, you hens know men cards are the absolute worst cards to make because you can't make them too cute, too feminine, blah-blah-blah!  Art Impressions to the rescue!!  Goodness, I love their stamps.  This little guy just screamed "Dave" to me.  LOL!  I knew he'd get a kick out of it, and he did.  He said, "That's me!"  Tee-hee!  Ok, so I stamped the image onto some Cannon watercolor paper with StazOn ink and watercolored it with my fabulous Inktense pencils.  OMG, I love it!  I finally found the right skin tone watercolor pencils, and I'm so happy!  These make the perfect companion to the Inktense pencil set! I've put a link to both sets below.  Next, I typed the sentiment on my computer and printed it out on the same paper, then I cut it out with my new quotables die from Paper Smooches.  Swoooon!!

To finish, I added some washi tape to the bottom edge and rounded the corners. Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a great day and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon. {{{hen hugs}}}

Ready to hop??

Mornin' hens!  Perfect Paper Crafting is teaming up with SugarPea Designs for today's AWESOME blog hop.  If you've stopped by my blog first, be sure to start back at the beginning HERE so you'll be sure not to miss any eye candy along the way.  For my card today, I'm using "Love You Bunches" from SugarPea Designs.  I thought she'd make a perfect Mother's Day card for my mom.  I stamped the image onto some Cannon watercolor paper and watercolored her with my Inktense pencils.  I stamped and watercolored a second puppy so I could pop him off the panel for some added dimension.  I also cut the speech bubble out and stamped the message inside with some white embossing powder.  I love this look!

Then, I added some glitter to her flowers with my Wink of Stella glitter pen and rounded the corners of the panel.  I matted the watercolored panel to some bright pink cardstock using my ever so handy Perfect Layers Mini tool and Perfect Mat, then attached it to the card base.  See the Perfect Layers Mini tool in action here!  I think she's adorable.  I know my mom is gonna love it.  Well, that's it for me today.  Be sure to leave a comment on each blog along the hop for a chance to win one of two $50 gift certificates from Perfect Paper Crafting and SugarPea Designs.  Ok, now it's time to hop on over to Anita's blog.  Wait 'til you see what she has in store for you….  it's AMAZING!!!

Congrats!

Mornin' hens!  Remember me telling you about my friend who's retiring?  Well, one of the ladies who works with me just found out she was hired for her position!  She's so excited about her promotion and I'm thrilled for her as well.  Of course, I love any excuse to make a card!  Bwah-ha-ha-ha!!

Well, while I was perusing the Silhouette online store trying to find the flower for last week's card, I found this cool A2 flip-swing card template.  Hot-diggity-dog!  I thought this would be perfect for my "shake your booty" stamps that I just got in.  And I must say, it works like a charm!  I cut my card template out using my Silhouette Cameo and also cut the polka dot panels too (which come with the file).  But I wanted a mat for the panels so I did an external offset to the panel pieces and cut the offset from black cardstock.  I think the black mat really adds the perfect touch to the panels, don't you?  Ok, so then I stamped my Art Impressions "Beach Booty" image, onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics.  I added some Glossy Accents to her goggles and adhered her with a few foam dimensionals.

The inside…  LOL!

Now the fun part!  I colored the "booty" part of the image (there are two stamps in the set) and adhered it with a Wobble spring.  So when you open the card, it bounces and wiggles!!  OMG, it's a hoot!  I just love it!  For the inside sentiment, I decided to use this stamp from an old H&M set I have, and I think it's just PERFECT! Tee-hee!  I can't wait for her to see it.  She's gonna love it!

Hoppy Easter!

Mornin' hens!  I thought I'd pop in today and show you what I whipped up for Easter! I recently saw this idea on the Lawn Fawn blog HERE and couldn't resist putting my own spin on this idea and mass producing some Easter cards for my family.  I just LOVE how they turned out!  So instead of using bags, I used these colorful notecards from LawnFawn.  I added the chevron die cut behind the tag to resemble a decorated Easter egg and embossed the sentiment with some white embossing powder.

  I colored the bunny images from Mama Elephant with my new Inktense watercolor pencils.  I have to admit, these pencils and my distress markers have renewed my interest in watercoloring!!  I think I'm addicted!  I just love the "painted look" this technique gives. The grass border was done using my Martha Stewart border punch.  I placed a taller grass under the vellum and shorter grass on top for some depth.  Oh, and I also used my new Marvy snow marker for the bunny's tails.  Seriously, I could watch that stuff puff up over and over.  It never gets old to me.  Finally, I tied some satin ribbon to each tag and rounded the bottom corners of each card.

Now, continuing with the Easter egg roll I was on, (tee-hee!) I also wanted to make a few treat bags for my co-workers.  I enjoy making little things for them.  These were pretty simple to do and I bet you'll never guess where I got the pattern?  Yup, the Silhouette on line store.  Actually, I think I downloaded this last year and never got around to making them.  Anyhoo, I cut four bunnies from both Kraft and white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo.  Don't ya just love those teeth??  {{{snort!}}}  I put little bags of Hershey's chocolate eggs inside.  Shhhhh, I only had a few!  For the closure, I threaded the baker's twine up through the flap from the panel underneath.  Then I tied the twine in a bow and cut the bow loops so they resemble whiskers.  Aren't they the CUTEST?

Ok, that's it for me today.  I hope you all have a blessed Easter Sunday and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.  {{{hen hugs}}

Happy Birthday Card with Video

Mornin' hens!  I hope you all had a GREAT weekend!  Mine was a bit busy but a lot of fun!  While I was out and about, I noticed this event calendar in the dining area of Chick-fil-A.  It had letters hanging from the top edge of the frame, almost as if they were suspended in air.  Hmmmmm I thought, I can do that!  So as soon I got home, I attempted to duplicate the look on my Silhouette Cameo.  It was super simple to do.  I just typed the word BIRTHDAY in Abadi MT Condensed Extra Bold font and then drew a long rectangle above it.  Then I moved the word BIRTHDAY so the top of the letters just did touch the bottom edge of the rectangle. I selected both the word BIRTHDAY and the rectangle and clicked WELD.  Presto!  All one piece!  Then it was as simple as clicking CUT!  The rest of the card came together fairly easy.  Here's a video on how I put it all together and a little Copic coloring too.

 Enjoy!

Thinking of you...

Mornin' hens!  Here's a little card I made for a friend of mine who's going through a really tough time right now.  When I started going through my stamps I was at a loss because she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES flowers, and flowers are something I rarely ever do.   Hmmm...  Silhouette online store to the rescue!  Yay!  I did a search using "3D flower" and found this little cutie by Lori Whitlock.  I cut the petals and leaves with my Silhouette Cameo and then added some distress inks to the pieces for some depth.  Then I threaded all the petals onto the brad and lastly the leaves.  I used my Tim Holtz Candy Stripes embossing plate on the white background panel and then cut a red mat using the Femme Frames die from Mama Elephant.  I love how that little red scallop just pops off the background.  To finish, I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of cardstock and adhered it with some foam tape.

Here's a close up!

Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a Tee-Rific Thursday and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.  {{{hen hugs}}}

Goodbye Tension...

…Hello Pension!!  Woot-woot!!

LOL!!  Ain't she a hoot?  I made this card for a good friend of mine who's retiring at the end of the month.  Needless to say, I'm SO JEALOUS!!  I've got 3 1/2 more years… pffffft!

Oh well, at least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!  Woo-hoo!

This is Sylvia from Art Impressions.  She's a hot mess right?  Sorta looks like me when I'm at work.  Tee-hee!  Anyhoo, I stamped the image onto some Strathmore watercolor paper and colored her with my new Inktense watercolor pencils.  I matted all the panels onto some SU Early Expresso cardstock using my Perfect Layers Mini tool and then stitched around the edges.  To finish, I added a few epoxy dots and tied some twine into a bow with a wooden button on top.

For the inside, I stamped another Art Impresssions stamp from the Golden Oldies line, "Lillie" and printed the sentiment with my computer.  I also added a piece of the patterned paper from the card front to the bottom of the inside to coordinate.
Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a MARVELOUS Monday and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.

My little angel...

Mornin' hens!  I thought I'd pop in today and show you this little cutie I made for Lil' Chick.

I wanted to thank her for giving me such a wonderful birthday party.  She's GREAT at party planning and I couldn't have had a better birthday.  Seriously, it was AWESOME!  So, I thought I'd make her a little thank you card, because she truly is an angel to me.  And oh, I just love how this turned out too!  I just got this cloud die and stitched frame die from Mama Elephant and couldn't wait to put them to use.  I started by cutting the patterned paper with the stitched frame die and added the clouds to the bottom half.  Then I stamped this sentiment in the top right corner and matted the panel onto some yellow card stock using my Mini Layers tool.  I colored the angel image with my new Inktense pencils I received for my birthday, and added her to the panel with a few foam dimensionals.  To finish, I added a few falling hearts and some faux stitching around the edges.

That's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a TEERIFIC Thursday and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon.  {{{hen hugs}}}
