Happy Birthday Bayley!

Mornin' hens! Today is my Grand-dog Bayley's birthday.  He's a white lab and is just the cutest fur baby ever!  I wanted to use a stamp that sort of resembled him, so I dug through my stash and found this one from Eat Cake Graphics and I thought it was perfect!   OMG, is this card too cute or what?  Love, love, love it!  And it's SO Bayley too!! LOL!

I stamped the image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored it with my Copics.  I cut the image out using my Nesties and sponged some chalk ink around the edges.  Here's a tutorial on this if you haven't seen it.  Then I stitched around the edges of each panel and tied some grosgrain ribbon around the middle.

I added some Glossy Accents to his mask and water splashes, and then rounded the bottom corners.  To finish, I stamped the sentiment and added a few DIY enamel dots.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today. I hope you have a GREAT day!  {{{hen hugs}}}

Yew'z mine - ALL mine!!

Hi there!! Happy Monday to ya! Did da hens all have a good Mother's Day? I sure hope so. I had a FANTABULOUS one!! My little chicklet and hubby took me and my MIL out to eat on Saturday and I picked this great seafood restaurant right on the water. I had been dying to try the Low Country Boil and my mouth was just waterin' for it by the time we got there.... and lemme tell ya, it was EXCELLENT!! Man, I already wanna go back. YUM!! Then on Sunday, we went to church and went out for breakfast afterwards. And like if that wasn't enough food for me, my hubby made me steaks on the grill with the rest of my shrimp I didn't finish from Saturday night. OH MY GOODNESS, I might not be able to fit in my clothes for awhile!! Ah shucks, Mother's Day only comes once a year, and I do LOVE being showered with LOVE (and food!) LOL!!

Ok, onto my card.... So you might remember this card from last year, those hens that were following me back then. Well my BFF Karen remembered that card I made for my anniversary and asked me to make one for her hubby for their anniversary. I think they are an ADORABLE couple don't you??? This stamp is from Eat Cake Graphics and I stamped it onto some SU Very Vanilla cardstock and colored them with my Copics. I matted the image with some SU Cool Carribean and stitched around the edges. This DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird collection and I matted it to the same SU Cool Carribean and stitched it to the SU Natural Ivory cardbase. To finish, I tied some scrap ribbon through a button, added the computer generated sentiment and a little Glossy Accents to his glasses. Cute huh??? I just LOVE it!! Ok, be sure to leave a cluck below and let me know what you think, k? Have a wonderful Monday! {{{hen hugs}}}

Meet Mr. Tumbledore

Who does he remind you of??? You got it, Randy! Ralphie's little brother from the movie "A Christmas Story", after his mom dressed him all up to go outside in the snow. If you've never seen the movie, "A Christmas Story" pleeeeease look it up on your TV listing and watch it. It's an old movie from the 50's I think and I promise you, you will die laughing. It's like my all time favorite movie, that is right behind "It's a Wonderful Life". Now don't tell me you've never seen that one either. Promise me that if you've never seen either one, that you'll try to find them this week and watch 'em. You won't be disappointed. I added a You Tube link below to the scene with Randy and his snowsuit. Hopefully it works! Just click your browser's BACK button when your done viewing.

Now tell me he doesn't remind you of Mr. Tumbldore. ROFL!! Ok, so Mr. Tumbledore is from Eat Cake Graphics. Isn't he the best?? I couldn't decide what sentiment to use so I decided to come up with one of my own. LOL! That'd be my luck, either I couldn't find my keys or I'd have to use the bathroom!!! Good grief!!
I stamped him onto some Classic Crest CS and colored him with my Copics. I cut his scarf out and then cut the rectangle around him. I matted him with some SU Chocolate Chip CS and stitched around the edges. This DP is from Collage Press and I used my Stampin' Up scalloped border punch on the striped DP and mat and then I used my decorative scissors on the top and bottom edges of the gingham DP. I stitched around the edges of the DP and then tied on this orange polka dot grosgrain ribbon. I used my circle punches to punch out the sentiment and mat and there you have Christmas card #49!! Woo-hoo!! Hope you have a SUPER DUPER Tuesday!

1 out of 8 people prefers NOT to get hit with a snowball!!!

..uh, well I wouldn't know anything about that living in Florida, but I'll take your word for it. I know I totally dispise being hit with a water gun!! Uggh! Of course, people who know that little tidbit about me, hunt me down like a varmit for the sole purpose of soaking me!! "bunch a meanies!!"

Ok, so about my card... I LOVE how the snow turned out on this card. I didn't do anything different with the Liquid Applique but for some reason it just looks so much better on this card than on some of the others I've used it on. Maybe it's the cream background that makes it stand out or maybe it's just me. ??? The card base is SU Chococate Chip and the DP is from the new Joyride collection from Collage Press. I matted the DP with SU Real Red CS and used my SU scalloped border punch along the edges. This zigzag edged circle is from the die cut sheet in the paper pack and I stamped the image directly on it. This is "hit with snowball" from Eat Cake Graphics, isn't he hilarious? Check out that look on his face.. PRICELESS!! Ok, so I colored him with my Copics and then added the Liquid Applique and sprinkled some Glamour Dust on top. I heat set the Liquid Applique, my FAVORITE part as you know, and then threaded this fun ribbon through a couple of eyelets in the DP. The sentiment strip is from the die cut sheet as well and I used my SUPER DUPER We Are Memory Keepers Corner Chomper on the corners. Love that thing!! And there you have Christmas card #48!!! Okee dokee, that's it for me today. Be sure to leave a comment below and let me know what you think of him, ok? Have a great Wednesday!!

That's Krafty Thursday! #6

Ahhh, nothing says Christmas like Grandma, right? Remember that great smell when you ran into your Grandma's house? She was ALWAYS cooking and ALWAYS had the BEST food!! I treasure those memories. As a child growing up, my Mom very seldom had sweets in the house, so when we went to Grandma's it was like "oh yeah!" She always had the "good stuff". Boy, did my Grandma know the way to my heart! {he-he} So when I saw this stamp at Eat Cake Graphics, it just brought back all those great memories and I had to have it!

So with that in mind, I wanted this card to look like it smelled SWEET, like it just says SUGAR!! Ok, so I started with my SU Kraft CS and stamped a few snowflakes with some Versamark ink, sprinkled on some pink irredescent embossing powder and then heat set them. I stamped my image onto some Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics. I stitched her onto the DP from My Minds Eye and used a border strip from this collection for the bottom edge. This is a computer generated sentiment that I printed and punched out with my SU Large oval punch. I finished with this saddle stitched ribbon from Stampin Up and there you have Christmas card #43. Now That's Krafty!!

Be sure to leave a comment below and let me know what you think of my SWEET card, ok? Oh, and I'd love to hear something "SPECIAL" you remember about going to your Grandma's too! Have a great day!

Rubber Stamp - Eat Cake Graphics, Making Memories (snowflakes); CS - SU Kraft, Classic Crest; DP - My Minds Eye; Versamark Ink; Irredescent Embossing Powder; Copics; Ribbon - Stampin' Up; SU Large Oval Punch

It's all about finding the RIGHT tree!

Is this stamp a hoot or what?? As soon as I saw it, I HAD to have it. This is SO my kinda card. I love FUNNY!!

I started my card by stamping "Finding the right tree" by Eat Cake Graphics onto some Classic Crest CS and colored it with my Copics. I added some liquid applique to the snow and heat set for some fluff! Had to add that little spot of yellow snow there too! *grin* Ok, then I matted the image with some Bazzil green CS and stitched two different DP's from Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly collection to the card base. I cut two circles, and stamped the sentiment from Amuse on top. I finished with a button tied with twine and there you have Christmas card #40. (no days left! 4 day weekend here I come!!)
Supplies:
Stamps - Eat Cake Graphics, Amuse; DP - Cosmo Cricket "Jolly by Golly"; CS - Stampin Up Very Vanilla, Bazzil Green; Copics; Button; Twine

Christmas don't be late....

I SO wished I lived where it SNOWED. I know, everyone says I wouldn't say that if I had to LIVE WITH IT, but I can only imagine how neat it must be to have SEASONS!!!

This is Mary and Mr. Meow from Eat Cake Graphics and I stamped them onto some SU Very Vanilla and colored them with my beloved Copics! I added some Liquid Applique to the window snow and sprinkled on some Glamour Dust while it was still wet. Then comes MY FAVORITE PART, heating it up! Man, I'm just like a kid when I do this. It makes me smile every time when I see it puff up. I matted the image with some SU Real Red CS and adhered to the card with a few dimensionals. The card base is SU Very Vanilla and I stitched on this cute Cosmo Cricket paper. I cut the holly border from a coordinating sheet of DP and then punched a scrap piece of SU Very Vanilla with my Martha Stewart snowflake border punch and placed on top for a little contrast. To finish, I tied on this great ribbon from SU and there you have Christmas card #37. Be sure to leave a comment below and have a SUPER Tuesday!

Over the river and through the wood....

...to Grandfather's house we go; the horse knows the way, to carry the sleigh, through the white and drifted snow, Oh! *grin* I've been humming this song the whole time I was making this card... I think it turned out really cute. Check out the little tag on the front of the jeep! Now that's the Christmas spirit!! I bet their singing Christmas carols inside too! Woo-hoo, my kinda bunch! Take me, take me!

This is my submission to the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #89. It's been awhile since I've done one of Taylor's challenges, so I thought I'd join this week's fun. This was a great sketch too! I stamped "Getting the Family Tree" from Eat Cake Graphics onto some Classic Crest CS and colored them with my Copics to match this great DP from Basic Grey. Of course, I HAD to pick some DP with Christmas trees, right? I matted the image with some burgundy CS from DCWV and the card base is Bazzil green. I stitched around the edges of the image and the card base and to complete the sketch design, I added this Happy Holidays stamp from the SU set "Riveting". Now a card just isn't complete without ribbon right, so I finished with some twill ribbon tied in a cute little bow. You like?? Me too!! Be sure to leave a comment below and I hope you have a great day. Ok, back to the song.... over the river and through the wood.. la-la, la-la, la-la!!!

Middle Age...

It's here! A loooooooonnnnnngggggg weekend! Yay! {oh, and the middle age too, but no Yay for that one!} I've got lots of things I want to get caught up on this weekend, so it'll be interesting to see if I can get them all done. {uh, that's a BIG question mark on that!}

First things first! This is my submission to this week's challenge at The Pink Elephant. The challenge was to use 1 ribbon, 2 squares and something that sparkles!! Hmmmm... what do you think? I think it's PERFECT! I drew this sketch for the challenge and I just love it. The card base is a 5 1/2 square of SU Summer Sun and the DP is from MME. This stamp is just the BEST isn't it? It's from Eat Cake Graphics and when I ordered it I thought, "Man, I could really get some use out of this one!" {he-he} I stamped the images onto some Papertrey Ink CS and colored with my Copics. I matted the images with some brown Bazzil CS and stitched around the edges. I finished with some Papertrey Ink ribbon and some yellow rhinestone brads for the SPAH-KUL! Ok, that does it for me today.... Leave a comment below and let me know what you think.
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!!

Halloween Tip #25

Ok, do you not just LOVE this card??? Oh my gosh, I have this HUGE grin on my face each time I look at it. That's SO me and my BIG brother. What a little ANGEL I was {he-he}! Spoiled rotten is more like it. I'm the baby so my older brother and sister ALWAYS had to take me wherever they went and I know they hated it. I can remember them saying, "Mom, do I have to take her?" {ahhhh, the benefits of being the baby!}

This little image is from Eat Cake Graphics. I stamped it onto Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream CS and colored it with my Copics. My daughter thought the little girl needed to look like she had a costume on, so she thought an Angel would be perfect. Ya know, like she didn't do anything wrong!! So I drew on some angel wings behind her. I added some Glamour Dust to them so they'd spah-kul too! I matted the image onto some SU Basic Black and stitched around the edges. The DP is from My Minds Eye (one of my favorite paper companies) and the dotted paper on the bottom is actually the reverse side of the skulls on the top. And of course I saved the BEST for last - check out that border punch would ya?? Is that AWESOME or what? I was so excited when I got this. My daughter found it for me at Michaels. Woo-hoo! It's just perfect on this card too! Loveeeee it! Leave a comment below and let me know what you think. Have a great day!

I cut out the image with my oval Nesties and matted onto some SU Basic Black CS cut and embossed with my scalloped oval Nesties. The DP is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet line. The sentiment was computer generated and the card base is SU Kraft, my "go to" favorite CS!! Dont' forget to leave a comment below. Have a great day!

No, I Can't Hold It Any Longer!!

This is my first blog posting. I have spent numerous hours (my husband would say, more like years!) blog hopping (blurfing, I think it's called) and after some encouragement from my friends and family, I've finally decided to do my own blog. I am quite the novice, so please be patient with me. It'll take me awhile to learn how all this is done.

Ok, now on to my first card.
This is a little stamp I bought a few months back from Eat Cake Graphics. I thought he was just the cutest thing. The name of the stamp is Little Boy in Front of Bathroom Door. Simple enough, huh? The DP is Basic Grey, Ambrosia. I colored him with my Lyra colored pencils and the speech balloon and words were done on my computer and then just cut out. I sponged the edges with ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink and mounted on SU Chocolate Chip cs that was cut and embossed with my Spellbinder Nestabilities, classic scalloped rectangle. Ok, I think that about covers it. Have a great day!
