Cuppa Joe?

Mornin' hens!  Here's another little craft project I wanted to share with you.
 Lil' Chick asked for her own personalized mug as her Valentine's Day gift.   Easy peasy!  I love making these.  I bought this stoneware mug at Target.  I loved how the inside is a speckled green and that tiny gold rim matches the vinyl monogram perfectly. Yay!

Now I know she would've been happy enough with just the coffee mug, but I wanted to give her something else too!  So I searched for coasters online and found these wooden ones.  They were $10 for a set of four with FREE shipping!  I used the same monogram (resized to fit inside the coaster), but used the negative space as a template and painted the initials with gold acrylic paint.  Here's a helpful tip: Instead of using the more expensive vinyl for the template (since you're going to peel it off and throw it away anyway), I use white Con-Tact paper instead.  I removed the Con-Tact paper template after applying 3 coats of gold paint.  Once the paint was dry, the DH then gave each coaster a coat of clear acrylic sealer.  Yoila!!  What a cute gift and for only about $17!  This would make a great gift for a teacher, or even a coworker!  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  I hope you hens have a FABULOUS Friday and a ❤SUH-WEET❤ Saturday!  {{{hen hugs}}}

Sending you smiles!

Hi hens!  This splattered background idea came from Alison at The Alley Way Stamps.  Seriously, she has the most creative mind.  How she comes up with these things is beyond me.  I wish I could.  Oh well, good thing I have Alison to watch on YouTube!!  LOL!!  Anyhoo, she made her own spray mist by combining acrylic paint and rubbing alcohol in a mini spray bottle.  Hey, sounds cool to me so I wanted to give it a go.  And here's my result...  BAM!  Is this AWESOME or what?  Whoot-whoot!! (or should I say hoot-hoot!) LOL!

Now I wanted to add something just as fabulous on top!  This is a little "Print & Cut" image from the Silhouette on line store.  I thought she was SUPER CUTE!  Ok, so I opened the image in my Silhouette software and selected print, making sure to print the registration marks too.  Then I just put the cardstock on my cutting mat and sent it to my Silhouette Cameo selecting the cut feature this time.  Yoila!  Perfectly cut image!  I print and cut 3 of these and used the other two images to fussy cut for layering. I layered the wings, hat, and eyes for a cute 3D look!

I stamped the sentiment and balloon onto some scratch cardstock and adhered them with some foam tape.  Now to add a little interest, I added some DIY enamel dots, rhinestones, and some glitter using my Wink of Stella pen.  To finish, I rounded the corners and added some Glossy Accents to the eyes and balloon.  Okee dokee, that's it for me today.  Hope you hens have a GREAT day!  {{{hen hugs}}}

It's your birthday!

Mornin' hens!  Here's another little birthday card I made.  I cut the sentiment 4 times using my Silhouette Cameo and layered them with the red one on top.  Gluing them on top of each other makes a cool 3D effect and sort of looks like chipboard.  I cut the DP using the stitched dies from Lil Inker Designs and adhered it to the card base using some foam tape.

Next, I embossed the flower and leaves onto some coordinating DP using white embossing powder and die cut them out.  To finish, I added a red button time with some red baker's twine.  There ya have it!  Hope you hens have a GREAT day!  {{{hen hugs}}}
