Coffee anyone?

Mornin' hens!! If you're like me, I'm worthless without my mornin' cup of coffee! What is it about coffee that just starts the day off right? Seriously, I'm like the "cookie monster" when it comes to my coffee. ME WANT COFFEEEEEE!! LOL!!

I'm not the only one who is a total coffee nut either, my SIL is too! Therefore, I had to use "lattebella" from Stamping Bella for her birthday card. I paired her with some great coffee DP from Flair Designs and some brick DP from my scrap stash, all of which is matted with SU Early Expresso, my GO TO cardstock of choice lately! I colored lattebella with my Copics and then stitched around the edges of the image as well. I finished off with punching two slotted holes in the bottom of the image cardstock mat and then threaded the saddle stitched ribbon through. Then I finished with this big copper brad and there ya have it! One birthday card that I like a latte!! LOL!

Acccccck! Now tell me you're not rollin' on the floor, bustin' a gut with this one?? OMG, this is SO my DH! He can fix ANYTHING and is ever so handy when it comes to repairs, maintenance, you name it - he can fix it!! Yeah I know, I'm blessed! No service calls at my house, wouldn't know how to act if I had to call a repair man for something! Eeeeeek!

Anyway, this was the card I made him for Father's Day. The inside reads, "so take the day off, you can finish your "honey do" list TOMORROW! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha! When my little chick saw this card she said, "oh my goodness Daddy, that's YOU!" *snort* We always tease him that he suffers from a disease called, NOBUTTATALL!

Seriously, his pants are always about to fall off because his has no BUTT to keep them up! Tee-hee! Needless to say, when I saw this image over at Dude Time Doodles, I knew it would be perfect for one of his cards. This image is called, "Pete Plumber". I printed him onto some Neenah Classic Crest cardstock and colored him with my Copics. Isn't that DP great? It's from the Harley Davidson collection at EK Success. The diamond plate design is even raised for a totally realistic look too! I matted the image onto some SU Basic Black CS and then stitched around the edges of it and the DP as well. To finish I added the vertical piece of black CS and used these cool screw brads as the perfect GUY hardware to this UBER COOL Father's Day card. Yeah, he LOVED it!

Happy Father's Day!

Bwah-ha-ha-ha!! Is this guy a hoot or what? OMG, every time I look at this image I'm crackin' up! *snort* This is my Dad's Father's Day card and he loved it!

The image is "Arnie in the Loo" from Dude Time Doodles. Now be honest, how many times have you hens read the directions/ingredients on the shampoo and conditioner labels while on the THRONE??? Hmmmmm? ROFL!!! OMG, I SO LOVE this card. Of course, you hens know how much I LOVEEEEE funny old people images!! What can I say, I'm a sick chick!

Ok, so I printed Arnie out onto some Neenah Classic Crest cardstock and colored him with my Copics. Then I finally decided on the sentiment I wanted to add so I typed it up in MSWord and then ran some scrap paper through the printer for a few test runs so I could get the placement just right underneath the image and when I was sure I had the right placement, I ran the image through and it printed out perfectly underneath him. I matted the image onto some SU Early Expresso and stitched around the edges. Then I adhered it to some OLD DP from Patchwork Papers and Flair Designs. They seemed to work well together and made a great background for a masculine card. (Ya'll know how hard guy cards can be.) *sigh* Ok, then I matted each layer with the same SU Early Expresso and stitched around the edges. To finish, I threaded this satin ribbon through a slit I made in the image panel and added a few mini brads to the corners too. Ain't it a doosey????

Oh and to give you hens a little update.... if you're wondering why the sporadic posts lately, well this Chicken's turning into a BRAINIAC!! Pffft! Ummm, let's just say I'm trying anyway! Hmmmph! I have a new job and I've been in training for the past month, so I'm trying my best to make a few cards here and there in between my classes. Hopefully, in a few months, my schedule will become more consistent and I can fit more cards in. Until then, I hope you hens understand and won't be too disappointed when I don't post. Happy 5th Birthday Madilyn!

Mornin' hens!! It's time for another Bellarific Friday today and this week's challenge theme was "Paper Piecing". I LOVE this technique, simply for the fact that it speeds up the card making process substantially. Believe me, this is a real time-saver when you need to get a card done quickly. One piece of advice I will give you is, always pick an image with a rather large space that normally would have been colored and also to pick a small patterned DP for the paper pieced part.

I decided to ink up Abby from Stamping Bella for today's card. I paper pieced her dress and colored the rest of the image with my Copics. I matted her to the My Minds Eye DP and then stitched around the edges. For a little added interest, I punched a border punch on the second panel behind the image. I finished with some striped DP and then an organza ribbon tied in a cute little bubbly bow!

This little card is for my niece Madilyn's birthday. She's having a birthday party on Saturday and I for one can't wait! I just LOVE when my family all gets together for a BBQ or birthday party. I'm sure with our family, she'll be showered with tons of gifts since we do love to spoil her rotten. Tee-hee!

Teenagers.....

... dey tink dey know everything. You give dem an inch, dey swim all over you!! LOL!! Remember that line from Disney's - The Little Mermaid?? Oh boy, I love that movie. Ummm, but what Disney movie don't I LOVE? *sigh* As I was making this card, I couldn't help but remember poor Sebastian saying this about Ariel. He's SO cute and funny, I couldn't help but fall in LOVE with him and Flounder too. Seriously, I could watch that movie a hundred times! Yes, I REALLY AM just a big kid at heart!

Ok, so back to my little card here. This is one of Stamping Bella's newest releases called, "Three Baby Mermaids Under the Sea". Yep, that's right - there are THREE images in this set. I've only used one of them here but you do receive all three when you order this set. They are all so cute too! I found this paper in my stash of 12 x 12 DP and I thought it worked perfectly with my underwater theme! I stamped my little mermaid onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. I cut her out with my new Eyelet Circles Nestabilities. I LOVE the look of these Nesties. So girly! Then I sponged a bit of chalk ink around the edges and adhered the image on top of the DP. I added some embossed CS and this pretty aqua satin ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow to finish. Okee dokee, that's it from the hen house today! It's Bellarific Friday!!

TGIBF!! Woo-hoo! I LOVEEEEE Bellarific Fridays, don't you? I just love lookin' at all the FABBY eye candy from da Bella Babes and the sistahood too! They're just uh-mazin!! LOL!

This week's BF challenge theme was "Masculine". Well, with Father's Day right around the corner, I'm sure this played right into your card makin' schedule right? I actually needed to work on mine as well but decided to mix it up and make my cousin's birthday card instead. This is Jackson the Champion from Stamping Bella. He's part of the Green Bean Baby range of stamps. These are SO CUTE! I LOVE coloring their hair! Tee-hee! I started by stamping Jackson on to some Bella's Bestest Paper and colored him with my Copics. I matted him with some SU Basic Black and added a few brads to each corner. This DP is from the Rough and Tough collection from Fancy Pants and is SO BOY!! I finished my project with some saddle stitched ribbon threaded through a cute orange button! I think it turned out so cute and is a perfect little boy card, don'tcha think?

I'm also using this card as part of Catered Crop's FTR 13 challenge too!

CONGRATS GRAD!

Mornin' hens! Did you all have a good weekend? This was a holiday weekend here in the states so I made the most of my THREE DAYS off by enjoying some R&R with my DH! On Saturday we went for a ride on the Harley and ate lunch at a little hometown cafe in a town about an hour away. Then yesterday, we took a little ride down the river in our boat. We even had a picnic lunch on the bank. Yum! We had a GREAT time and I SO needed it! Not to worry, I did find some time to fit in a little crafting and this is one of my little creations. I have a another GRAD that I needed a card for this year, so I whipped out "DIPLOMABELLA" from Stamping Bella. I stamped her onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. This DP is from a small K&Company pad that I picked up at Michaels a couple of months back. I just LOVE that gingham print!! Ok, so I matted "Diplomabella" on some SU Night of Navy and then adhered her to the DP. I added a little white border in between the two DP's and then finished with this pretty satin ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow! Whatcha think? Think she'll like it? I hope so! I thought I'd leave you with a few pictures I took from our little trip down the river. Even though it was a holiday here in the states, there were very few boats out and it was SO peaceful. We were sure it would be packed but we only passed a few other boats enjoying the beautiful day.

I made this little card for my friends daughter who just graduated college. She's such a sweetie and I wanted to send her a little something to CONGRATULATE her! Hey, what better way to show how excited I am for her than a cheerleader? Woo-hoo!

This little cutie is "PomPomabella" from Stamping Bella! I stamped her onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. I matted her with some SU Early Expresso and stitched around the edges. This week's Bellarific Friday theme was Kraft, Navy and Green. Well as you hens know, Kraft is MY THING so this challenge was right up my alley. Hey, take a look at this cool ribbed Kraft CS that was a gift from my good friend in Switzerland. Not sure what it's really used for but it's super cool. Me LOVEEE gifts!! Tee-hee! Ok, so then I found this DP from We Are Memory Keepers in my stash and thought it would work perfectly for this color challenge. Then to finish up, I added the sentiment, also from Stamping Bella and tied on some Baker's Twine from The Twinery with a button on top.

Hot Tub LuLu!

Tee-hee! I wish this were me! I can so see myself lounging around with my umbrella after a nice soak in a hot tub!! Ahhhhh! Now wouldn't that be the life?? Hmmmmm, this sorta sounds like somebody I know... *snort!* YOU know who YOU are! Pfffft!

Ok, so this is Ida LuLu from Stamping Bella. Isn't she a doll? I just LOVE those glasses of hers! SO stylish, don'tcha think? I need to get me a pair of those! Tee-hee!

I began my little card by stamping Ida onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. I stitched her to some SU Basic Black CS and adhered her to this DP from an old DCWV paper pad I had. I decided I didn't want to use any busy designer paper on this card, so the focus would be on the image entirely. I did add some Glossy Accents to Ida's glasses and also stamped my sentiment on the background paper as well. To finish, I tied on this pretty satin ribbon and added a few black brads with this fun flower accent for a little added interest. Simple but oh so cute!

That's KRAFTY Friday??

Ummmm, ok that was WEIRD!! I have no idea what was going on with Blogger yesterday but my That's Krafty Thursday #51 post went live and then later in the day Blogger "UN-POSTED" it, if that's a word! I dunno, but I just put it back on line now. That was strange.... {*Alfred Hitchcock music*} Now, I know there were a few of you hens that had linked your projects yesterday before Blogger went down, so if you don't mind, please double check to be sure your project is still there and if not, pleeeeease resubmit it. Ok, so if my That's Krafty Thursday #51 post didn't get you in a KRAFTY mood, how 'bout this doosey??? I just LUUUUVE these two gals! Now of course I could hardly wait for this week's Bellarific Friday, cuz the theme was....... KRAFT!! Ahhhhhhh, my fav!! Betcha never guessed that, huh? For this little BFF card of mine, I stamped "huggybellas" from Stamping Bella onto some Bella's BESTEST paper and colored it with my Copics. I matted it with some SU Basic Black and stitched around the edges. This DP is from Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1934 collection and of course, the cardbase is SU Kraft! I finished it up with the perfect sentiment (also from Stamping Bella), with a flower and a button on top! I don't know what it is about Kraft with Black, but it's one of my favorite color combinations. The black just POPS off that Kraft doesn't it? Ok, now it's your turn.... That's Krafty Thursday #51

Mornin' hens! Ready for another That's Krafty Thursday challenge? It's been a whole two weeks so it's time to GET KRAFTY!!

To give you some inspiration to get you started, here's a little card I made for my niece. She just found out that she's gonna be a MOM! Now wasn't that the BESTEST Mother's Day present ever? I'm so happy for her! So I decided I HAD to ink up "Pregabella" from Stamping Bella. I just LOVE her! I stamped her onto some Bellas' Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. I cut her out with my scalloped oval Nesties and sponged some chalk ink around the edges. I adhered her to this cute DP from October Afternoon's Report Card which I think has a nice "baby feel" to it too. To finish, I stamped the sentiment, also from Stamping Bella and added this satin embossed ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow! I hope she likes it!

Just call me "Trailer Trash!"

Tee-hee!! OMG, isn't this a hoot? A co-worker of mine wanted a card for his sister who LOVES to go camping. He told me that when she and her husband go, it's like a HUGE party with the other folks in the campground! He says, they ride from campsite to campsite on their golfcart, and stop in, visit a spell and have a beer, or two, or three..... you get the picture! So as I'm listening to him tell me this with total AMAZEMENT in his voice, I'm thinking, "yeah, so what? Ain't that what everybody does?" ROFL! Seriously, if you've never camped in a campground, you haven't LIVED! Now that's the life.... laid back and EASY livin'! Oh well, just call me "TRAILER TRASH!" LOL!!!

Ok, so here's how I made this little cutie. I started with an older set from Whipper Snapper called, "Great Outdoors". I stamped the travel trailer in the foreground first and then masked it for the second trailer behind it. Then I masked both and stamped the trees in the background. I colored the scene with my Copics and used some DP from the October Afternoon Campfire collection as the backdrop. I thought it came together well and he LOVED it when I gave it to him. He said it was exactly what he wanted. Yay! I do LOVE it when I get it right and can make a card to truly FIT a person. Okee dokee, that's it from the hen house today. It's a BLOOMIN Bellarific Friday!

Mornin' hens! FLOWERS, flowers and more flowers! It's a "bloomin" Bellarific Friday! LOL! Today's BF theme was ummmmm, yep you guessed it, FLOWERS! Tee-hee! How perfect, April showers brings May flowers right? Yay! So I went diggin' through my Stamping Bella images and found this little cutie that hadn't seen any ink yet! Eeeeek! How can that be? Well, I had to remedy that right away, so I stamped "Patsy Pixie" onto some Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. This DP is from an old Basic Grey collection I had and I LOVE the colors in it. I know I'm such a sucker for neutrals but I really liked how the violets, oranges and greens tie into it. VERY pretty don'tcha think? Ok, so after I was done coloring, I cut it out with my oval Nesties and leaving the die in place, sponged around the edges with distress ink. I matted the DP with some SU Cajun Craze and even used my SU border punch along the vertical edges. To finish, I added this crocheted lace and topped it off with this champagne colored satin ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow. This will be my MIL's Mother's Day card. I think she'll LOVE it!

Nurses Day is May 6th!

Hopefully, my little chick doesn't see this post before she gets this card! Eeeeek! Sometimes that happens ya know! *sigh* But I told her "no blog peeking" this week (tee-hee!) so I'm hoping it'll still be a surprise when she gets it. I'm always on the hunt for nurse images and when I saw this little gal from Prairy Fairy Designs, that was it! I HAD to have her! Those fat little cheeks and glasses just CRACK me up! Did ya check out that syringe and bed pan in her hand! OMG, she's hilarious!

I started by printing the image onto some Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics. I stitched her onto some SU Real Red CS and then matted her to this great Stampin Up DP. And get this, the ribbon... it was tied on a gift my little chick bought me last year and I saved it. PERFECT, right? Tee-hee! Ok, then I printed this sentiment and punched it out with my circle punches and added this little felt flower underneath. I think it sort of resembles the flowers in the DP, don't you? Sooooo CUTE! I hope she likes it!

Howdy hens!

Yippee ki yay!! LOL! Ok, I know it's Monday but at least you can start your week off right by takin' a gander at this here card. At it purty?? OMG, I just LUUUUV this card. This is one of the images from my last Stamping Bella order and I've been dying to use it. I began by stamping "giddyupabella" onto Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. This DP by Flair Designs, are single 12x12 pages I picked ages ago at my LSS. It ties in perfectly with this image don'tcha think? I really liked the cowgirl image on the bottom of the DP, so I thought I'd add some twine to the lasso in her hand to show off the sentiment. Looks kinda cool huh? I haven't made an elongated card in some time now so this kinda worked out in my favor, giving me room for the sentiment, DP design and the image. I matted the image with some SU Early Expresso and punched the top and bottom with my Martha Stewart border punch. I adhered it to the DP and stitched around the edges. I finished with a few brass brads and that's it! I really had no idea in mind when I began this card but it all sorta fell into place as I was cutting the DP. I LOVE it when that happens!! Yee-haw! Take me out to the BALL GAME....

Afternoon hens! SAY WHAT? AFTERNOON?? LOL! Gotcha didn't I? Today's a TWO-FER day! That's always fun for the hens isn't it? Today I'm featuring the Freebie Friday image from Bugaboo Stamps! Now I'm far from being a baseball fan but I bet there are lots of you who have baseball kids in your family that this image would be great for. As for me, I've decided to pair it up with some reds and blues and use this as a July 4th card. Ya know, sort of the All American, Apple Pie sorta thing. Whadaya think? Hey, works for me! Tee-hee!

Ok, so I printed my image onto some Classic Crest CS and colored it with my Copics. These little "A Kids View" images are SUPER easy to color and are just SO adorable to me. Once the image was colored, I stitched it to some SU Basic Black CS and added the three brads underneath. I tied on some gingham ribbon and adhered the image panel to this Cosmo Cricket DP with a few dimensionals. That's all there was to it! SUPER EASY and SUPER CUTE! Now before you fly the coop, I just want to let you hens know that this will be my last card as a designer with Bugaboo Stamps. I've LOVED working with this AMAZING company and Jodie is one super talented illustrator. But while this may be my LAST card as a designer, it certainly won't be my last Bugaboo Stamps card! No siree!! Can you imagine, no Stella and Gus in the hen house? NEVAH!! Tee-hee! Oh you hens will see them time and time again I'm sure! Me LOVEEE Stella and Gus! LOL! If Moms were flowers, I'd pick YOU!

Mornin' hens! Hmmmm, I bet you'll never guess who this card is for? Tee-hee! Yep, it's my Mom's Mother's Day card. I hope she likes it. She's so GOOD with plants and flowers it's not funny. I can kill a CACTUS, but she can grow ANYTHING! I certainly don't take after her in that arena! Hmmph!

As soon as I saw this new image from Stamping Bella called, "Sorry Shanna" I knew I wanted to use it for her Mother's Day card. It fits her perfectly and ME too! Yep, that looks like me as a kid, goofy tights and shoes! Always wearin' my big sister's "hand me downs"! Tee-hee! And thinkin' back, I wouldn't trade my childhood for ANYTHING!

Ok, so I started by stamping the image onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper and colored the image with my Copics. I stitched it to some SU Really Rust and then onto some SU Sahara Sand. I added the three small brads to the bottom left and then finished by adding this taffeta ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow. That's it, not a complicated card but none the less CUTE, right? LOL! Our next Bellarific Friday challenge theme is "FLOWERS". Hmmmmm, maybe I can post this again? Bwah-ha-ha-ha!! Just kidding!! Hey there hens!! WOWZERS, I can't believe we've almost hit the 50 entries on my That's Krafty Thursday #50 challenge! JUST A FEW MORE..... Come on hens, make this Chicken proud and let's hit 50 before the deadline tonight! YOU CAN DO IT! I KNOW YOU CAN! You hens are the BESTEST!

So whatcha think of my card today? I'm in LUUUUUV with this little couple. This is "Arthur and Annie" from Stamping Bella. They come as a pair, cuz Arthur can't LIVE without Annie! Pffft! Helloooooo, they can't live without us? They're TOTALLY helpless! Bwah-ha-a-ha-ha! Hmmm, good thing ONLY hens read this blog huh? *snort*

Ok, so I stamped the images onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper by stamping Annie first, then masking her hair and stamped Arthur behind her. I colored them with my Copics and then stitched them to some SU Early Expresso CS.

I followed the sketch from Card Patterns Sketch 112 which worked perfectly with this image. I used this CUTE DP from Cosmo Cricket that I've had FOREVER but never found the right occasion to use it. I stamped the sentiment, also from Stamping Bella, onto some vellum and placed it over the bottom of the image and fastened it with a few mini brads. To finish, I added this pretty satin ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow and in the mail it went!! Oh, I forgot to tell you WHY I made it. Well you see, my uncle comes up to me on Saturday and says, "hey Jeanie, I need an anniversary card for your Aunt". Now I'm thinking to myself, "Um, your anniversary is in 3 DAYS!!!" Yikes! Ok, so needless to say, I was hustling to get this finished and in the mail as soon as possible, but I'm thinking it's definitely going to be a day or two LATE! Oh well, I hope HE likes the card HE gave her, and SHE likes the card SHE gets! ROFL! Aren't secrets FUN?

Well, I figured livin' in Florida I HAD to use the beach bag and flip flops right? I mean, are there any other kinda shoes??? LOL! (Well, not here there ain't!) So, I decided to color my bag like a woven basket with glass handles and then using my Exacto knife, cut around the flip flops so I could slide this SAND designer paper behind them so they'd look as if they were kicked off in the sand. The rest of the image was cut with my circle Nestie and I sponged a little distress ink around the edges. The sentiment comes with the set and of course, one of the COOLEST things you can do with clear stamps is BEND them.... so I bent the sentiment to match the curve of the die.

What's that? Oh yeah, that AWESOME twill ribbon, YEP that's from Ladybug Crafts Ink too! Isn't it SUPER CUTE? Oh and wait, it doesn't stop there, she sells the FELT as well! Now I admit, I've been seein' this felt on several blogs lately but hadn't tried it myself..... WELL LET ME TELL YOU, this stuff is TOO MUCH FUN! SUPER EASY to cut too! I just ran it through my Cuttlebug and it cut just like BUTTAH! LOVE IT! MUST get MORE colors NOW! Eeeek!

It's an Easter Egg Shower!!!

LOL! Today's Catch the Bug Challenge theme is April Showers!! Well, I decided to think "outside the box" on this one and thought I'd use something besides the normal umbrella/rain images. I thought these little Easter Bunnies with their eggs looked like an Easter Egg shower to me, and fits into an April theme as well since Easter is tomorrow! Ok, so maybe I'm crazy but that was my logic for this card.... ROFL!! Hey, but it's SUPER CUTE huh? I LOVE how this card turned out. These are little block images from Bugaboo Stamps and I began by printing each of them on the same setting, so they would all be the exact same size. I colored them with my Copics to match this cute DP from MME Stella & Rose collection and then adhered them to some SU Chocolate Chip. I stitched around the edges and decided the center needed a little something. So I made this little circle phrase in Word Art and punched it out with my circle punch and added a vintage brad in the center. To finish, I added this BEE-YOO-TI-FUL satin ribbon tied in a pretty bubbly bow! Be sure to visit the Catch the Bug Challenge blog and check out all the inspiration from the rest of the DT! Happy Birthday Mom!

Mornin' hens! Ready for another Bellarific Friday? Today's theme was FREE FORM so there ought to be lots of ideas to get you hens in the stampin' mood! My Mom's birthday is coming up soon, so I thought I'd use Flowahbella from Stamping Bella since my Mom is BIG into flowers! Whadaya think? Think she'll like it? I hope so. I stamped Flowahbella onto some of Bella's Bestest Paper and colored her with my Copics. I matted her with some SU Cherry Cobbler and stitched around the edges. I used some of this great October Afternoon Campfire DP which I thought made for a cheery card. I cut some coordinating pieces of DP in different shapes and matted them behind the sentiment, also from Stamping Bella. To finish, I punched a scalloped border along the bottom of the image mat and tied on this cute little polka dot ribbon. Wanna see some more ideas? Happy Anniversary!

Mornin' hens and Happy Wednesday to ya! Yippee, we're half way to the weekend! Do you hens have any plans for Easter? My Aunt and Uncle are having us over for a BBQ on Saturday, and the little kidlets can hunt Easter eggs too! Mmmmm-mmmm, ain't nothin' better than egg salad sandwiches after Easter is there? Tee-hee! Well, seein' that we're heading to my Aunt & Uncle's house and it just so happens that it's their anniversary too, so I thought I'd make them this little card to celebrate their special day. I believe this is their 54th. WOWZER, isn't that great!

I decided to use one of Stamping Bella's Mo in Rubbah images for my card. This is "Kisses for my Sweet". Aren't they the cutest couple? I stamped the image onto some Bella's Bestest Paper and colored them with my Copics. I adhered them to this DP from MME's Stella & Rose collection and stitched around the edges. To finish, I stamped the sentiment, also from Stamping Bella, and tied on this sweet taffeta ribbon and added a button on top!
