Happy Birthday Randy!

Mornin' hens!
This birthday card is for my BIL Randy. Not to worry, Randy has a GREAT sense of humor.  Wouldn't do for anyone I make a card for not to have one, right? Bwah-ha-ha-ha!
I was pretty impressed with how my paper piecing turned out on this card.  The digital image is from Squigglefly and I've been wanting to use it for awhile now but couldn't  think of what it should say.  Any then it just hit me!  Duh!  Soooo, I printed the digital image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and then again onto both the striped and diamond DP.  I cut small strips of white CS and made baseboards where the two DP's met.  I added a little shading to the DP and matted it to some white CS using my Perfect Layers tool and then stitched around the edges.  I printed the sentiment and then folded it to resemble a banner and popped it up with a few dimensionals.  To finish, I added some lime green Baker's twine and a button on top.  Can't wait for him to get this one!  Love it!
Hope you hens have a great Monday! {{{hen hugs}}}

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Mornin' hens!  Today is my nephew Andrew's 11th birthday.  Wow, where did the time go?  Seems like only yesterday he was just a baby.  Good grief, I'm OLD!! Ok enough of that...  Let's talk funny.  OMG!  Is this image a hoot or what?  SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!  I saw this image over at Squigglefly and went crazy over it.  You know some illustrators just have the talent of making a CUTE face and some, well.....  don't.  Well, the illustrator of these cows, NAILED IT!  Would you get a load of those eyes and nostrils.  OMG, it's the BEST!  I even love how they made the holes look 3D.  You currently get FOUR cows in this cow pack for $3!!  Uh-huh, four for $3.  Can't beat that!  Usually that's the price of one digital image.  Now hold on, let me finish before you rush off!  LOL!

I printed the image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics.  Then I cut her out and adhered her to this MME DP called "Garden Party" and stitched around the edges.  I matted the DP using my Perfect Layers tool and added a few baubles for some interest.  I originally had a bubbly bow tied with the saddle stitched ribbon but it was just too overpowering so I changed it to some Baker's Twine and a button.  Ahhh, much better!  I printed the sentiment from my computer and there ya have it!  Ok, now run on over to Squigglefly and get your cow patty, uh I mean cow pack!  Tee-hee!  Look out! It's a STAMPEDE!  Have a great day!

What's up Doc?

Mornin' hens! Whatcha' think of DH's second card? I can hardly contain my excitement for this one and I can't even say why, but I really like it! He LOVED both his cards and has them proudly displayed on the dining room table this week. Gooood DH!! snort!

Ok, so this image is called "Doc" from Squigglefly. It's a digital image and they have TONS to choose from over there. Seriously, you'll be there for awhile and probably lose your whole paycheck if you stay too long. A-hem, like I did. LOL! Anywho, I printed my image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored him with my Copics. I matted him to alternating SU Basic Black, white and SU Real Red CS, then adhered him with a few pop dots to this great DP I've had like FOREVER that reads, "What's up Doc?" over and over again. I finished with some Baker's twine and a black button on top.

Oh and here's the inside... it's GREAT isn't it? Bwah-ha-ha-ha! Don't you wish it was your birthday? Pfffft! No worries, we tease each other constantly so he got a BIG kick outta both of his cards.

Now don't forget, you hens still have TWO WHOLE DAYS to get your card entered into my That's Krafty Thursday challenge. It's a breeze to enter, just use Kraft colored cardstock somewhere on your project. That's it! Then link your project up below on my TKT 54 post, before 7:00pm Wednesday EST and YOU could be the next KRAFTY CHICK! Awwwwwk!

That's Krafty Thursday #54

Mornin' hens! Ready to play along in another That's Krafty Thursday challenge? Sure, why not, right? It's SUPER EASY to play along in my TKT challenges, alls you need to do is use Kraft colored cardstock somewhere on your project! That's it! See, I told ya it was easy! What? You don't have any? Well, you best remedy that right away, but during the meantime, just use a piece from an ol' grocery bag, that'll do just fine.... Seriously, I ain't that picky!

So whatcha think of muh card? OMG, it just cracks me up! I'm lovin' this card. I know I say that alot, don't I? That's a good thing though, cuz' at least that means I LOVE what I do, right? This here card is for my little chick's feller. It's his birthday in a few weeks so I thought I'd best get to work on some cards, since I've got so many birthdays comin up in the next few weeks. I think he's gonna love this one, and thank goodness he's got a great sense of humor. Not a dud, if ya know what I mean? LOL!

Ok, so this little card was pretty simple to create but the printing took a little bit of time. I decided to print the image onto one of the tags that came in the Fancy Pants "It's the Little Things" paper pack. I taped the tag to a larger piece of paper and ran it through my printer so that the image would print right in the middle of the tag. Then I did the same thing with the sentiment. It took several passes on test sheets of paper to line up the image and sentiment, but after that it was pretty much easy going. Just colored the image with my Copics, and added a little bit of DP from this great paper pack and stamped some polka dots above it. I finished it off with a punched flower and circle with a button and twine on top. I just LOVE it! Okee dokee, now it's your turn..... Link your creation below before Wednesday, September 21st at 7:00pm EST and I'll announce the newest KRAFTY CHICKS right here on Thursday, September 22nd. Good cluck!

Thimon Thez....

OMG, I am havin' such a ball with these crazy birthday cards lately. This is another card I made for my sister. Man, she hit the JACKPOT for homemade cards this year! I wish you could have seen her reading this out loud in front of everyone. She got so tongue tied and then got to giggling.... Seriously, it was hilarious watching her. What a hoot! That just made my day so needless to say, I was pleased as punch!

Ok, so this is a little digital image from Squigglefly and what's really cool about their images is, they come with a mirror image too! That's a first for me as I've never seen that done before, but boy it sure does come in handy. Take for instance this little crazy bird. I wanted them to sorta look like they were talkin' to each other. So I wanted him to face one direction and say something and then I wanted him to face the other direction and talk again, and these two mirror images worked great for this. I pretty much just made text boxes in MSWord and then pasted the images beside them for the design. Pretty straight forward but it took some doin' since text boxes can be kinda quirky if you know what I mean. I also printed the images onto some old October Afternoon scrap paper that I had in my stash and then cut them out. So the little bird's body is paper pieced but the rest is colored with my Copics. I added a strip of polka dotted DP along the bottom edge and rounded the bottom corners too. As a finishing touch, I threaded a button and glued it to the right side for a little added dimension. And that's it....

oh, except here's the BEST PART!!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!! Is that great or what?? Man I do love this card. I'm so glad she got a kick out of it too! Ok, now it's your turn...... What? You don't know what today is? Well, my little feathered friends, it's THAT'S KRAFTY THURSDAY 53. Yay!! So come on and get that Kraft cardstock out and let's get KRAFTY!! It's easy to play along in my little challenge, just make a project and use some Kraft colored cardstock on it. Hey, it don't get no easier than that! *snort* Then just link your project below by August 24th at 7:00 pm EST and YOU just might become a member of the most elite cardmaking group evah, THE KRAFTY CHICK club! Pfffft! Well, I don't know about that but it's a real BIG DEAL to us hens, that's fer sure!! Tee-hee! Ok, so let's GET KRAFTY!!

Oh, and if that twern't enough, this card is also doing double duty in the latest and greatest FTR18 challenge over at the Catered Crop.

Is it Mooooooon-day already??

Seriously!! Where'd the weekend go?? Ok, all in favor of a 5 day weekend and a 2 day work week say Mooooo! Tee-hee! I think all the cows in the world just raised their heads!!

Was that you Bessie? *snort*

So did you hens all have a good weekend? I spent Saturday makin' my lil' chick's birthday cards. I made her two of them and this is one. She better not be peekin' neither!! Hmmmph! Her birthday is comin' up next week and we're giving her a party this Saturday. I've been itching to use this new digi I got from Squigglefly. Ain't it a hoot? OMG, those eyes just crack me up! I printed the image twice and cut the head off the second one (Awwwwwk, dem's fighten words to us chickens!) LOL!

Ok, so then I colored both with my Copics and matted the image with some SU Early Expresso (is there any other CS?) and then pulled out this really OLD SU DP and matted it with some blush colored CS from my stash. I stitched around the edges of all pieces and then add this Martha Stewart taffeta ribbon tied in a cute bubbly bow. And of course for the FINISHING TOUCH, I added some dimensional pearls in Expresso to make that AWESOME lookin' cow patty!! I was so proud of my little creation and the DH says, "it needs some STINK comin' off of it or at least a fly!" Hmmmmmm??? Ok, so I got out my super fine Prismacolor markers and drew a few dots and a little fly. Tee-hee! The DH gave his approval with a, "VERY GOOD!" Yay!! Oh, and here's the inside. Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! OMG, I'm gonna pee my pants!! Have a great Moooooooon-day hens! {{{hen hugs}}}
